Interesting take on it. I do think women have a tendency to make themselves slaves to their children (which is an unfortunate change for the man). They don't know when to stop. Children are meant to follow you round while you hunt and gather, not the other way round.

This is pretty common. Often the child is more appealing than the husband. Sometimes caring for children properly means sacrificing some of the attention you previously gave your husband.
Why should women put their husbands before their children? Husbands are adults. They can make their own decisions, earn their own money, they can even tie their own shoelaces

Goodness gracious me! She put the children 1st. And that makes her a bitch eh???

It's such a shame to see some men don't realize that BOTH motherhood AND fatherhood become the no 1 priority in a relationship once babies come on the scene. And this is what helps to nuture the relationship as it moves on from the couple to family stage.

Unless equal priority is given to nurturing the relationship it will probably fail when the kids grow up and move on.

Two strangers left looking at each other with barely a thing in common as they have changed so much over the years. I find people who cannot talk about anything other than their children/grand children very boring.

Mantra, we both know that men are like children....and as such they get plenty of attention lol :)

In our household, being parents is a full time, hands on nurturing role for both of us. The process has taught us a lot about working together as a team, and we've discovered more about ourselves and each other as we've moved forward as a family. And that's been great for the relationship also.

Because of the age gap btwn our children, I envisage a future where we'll continue to nurture children for many years to come (grandkids are probably within a decade away lol).
