Topical irony? ... I used to live with a wax fanatic. She waxed my chest twice, stings a bit. Got me to wax her crotch and armpits, and I asked if I could shave the GT stripe on her fanny. She said "Just wax right upto the edge then" .. so I did.
She was a violent woman, on 3 separate occasions she attacked me while I was trying to sleep, and on the 3rd occasion I reacted by breaking her nose.

If Donald Trump is so close to the Ruskis, why couldn't he get Vladimir Putin to put novichok in Xi Jjinping's lipstick?

Snakes are back in abundance. Had a King Brown (jet black with bright yellow belly) refuse to move from a track yesterday. Stamped the ground and it remained with its head up. Threw a stick at it (missed) and it still wouldn't move. So I lobbed a branch with 3 angled side branches off it, so that the branches fell on it like prongs of a fork ... snake retreated back to the creek.
Have seen numerous baby browns around too lately. Did have a Red belly Black living in a car seat in my camp, but a slight mishap with fire burnt out its residence.

Killed this at work this morning ..
.. got a spade for the job, and a Mexican asked "Is he dangerous?". I replied "Deadly".
.. the hippy was saying "Don't kill it" when I went 'chop'.

Had a RBBlack cross my path on a track a few days ago... must have been at least 10', had a head as big as my fist. Fortunately we were going in different directions, at least we were, after I spotted him.

Mantra will be on to you, Yogi. A good snake is a dead snake. However they don't scare me .... but I loathe spiders!Outlaw Yogi wrote:Killed this at work this morning ..

I haven't seen any snakes for years. I'm always dreading finding one in overgrown parts of my garden, or in the garage. I don't mind spiders.

There's no need to kill snakes, unless they're hanging around where humans/pets have to be regularly. If you come upon one, just back off, and they'll head off.

Agreed. Well usually anyway, had a King Brown refuse to move/back off recently, even after throwing a stick at it. And another in the donger that refused to leave, so I sprayed him with a can of pesticide. I let Red bellies hang around because they cannibalize smaller Browns. The dogs found a big Carpet python a few arvos ago .. as fat as a bear bottle and at least 8" long, and we let it be. The night after I killed that Brown at work I saw heaps of baby Brown snakes on the road through my valley. I reckon they were attracted to the heat in the road/bitumen .. had a baby Brown get in the ashes of my fire from the night previous in winter, I reckon it was after the warmth too. And a few nights ago the dogs went off at something in or under Gemma's kennel, she was all jittery/nervous and slept on a seat in the caravan instead.boxy wrote:There's no need to kill snakes, unless they're hanging around where humans/pets have to be regularly. Re: Hill billy capers
Got word of pigs in a certain area up the road, so went for a look.
Checked a likely creek that comes out of a rain forest. No pigs, or even sign of, but heaps of shells from a creature I don't know.
The ordinary garden snails up here are about twice the size of those down South and too hard to break by hand. Usually a rock is needed to smash them.
These shells (from what I presume is a snail) are at least twice as big again and resemble the shell of a sea creature.
I don't have permission (yet) to go into the property the pigs are supposedly going through, so had a look in a forestry/cattle lease beside it.
Walked about 10km. After 2 or 3km I found what should be a brilliant piggy haunt ...
