Allegations of brutal tactics by counter-terrorism authorities and anti-Islam attacks on social media have sparked a wave of apprehension among Australia's Muslim community in the wake of Thursday morning's raids on homes allegedly linked to a terrorism plot.

About 400 people attended a protest at Lakemba railway station on Thursday night organised by Hizb ut-Tahrir.
News of the the protest in the afternoon prompted the Australian Defence League – an Australian "pride" group – to post "Let's make our presence known and get there in force against these bastard terrorists."

Wassim Doureihi, a prominent member of the group, told the crowd that the community was deeply upset by the raids.

"Let me say clearly even if a single bomb went off even if a thousand bombs went off in this country all it will prove is that Muslims are angry."

No protests over the behaviour of ISIS bar one father who came out and spoke out against it. Kudos and respect for him. Yet they all don their night gowns and rise up in protest claiming they are victims and we should not be trying to flush out the terrorists who 'besmirch the good name of Islam'. At least they are consistent.

Personally I'd let them all go and cancel their visas/passports/citizenship whatever... no coming back.
I don't see why the government wants to stop them from going... if they have 2 passports, let them go and cancel their Australian passport.

I don't know why the government is actively asking the parents to encourage them to come home and I certainly have no idea behind the insanity of already allowing some to come back into the country.

If they are an Australian Citizen....with or without Passport.......they have a right to re-enter Australia where Abbott can arrest them, if he has competent laws in place.

Israel was given a "homeland" in 1947ish .... it has since encroached on surrounding land to take over land that others have claimed is THEIRS, via WAR. It has absolutely nothing to do with their Jewishness ....
