I have been a long term member of this forum and have a good understanding of its background and current personalities. While I am not a foundation member I have been here for around seven years and believe I know the workings of the forum pretty good as well as the dynamics of how it best operates. I do not believe you need to be a foundation member to have the forums best interests at heart. I believe AIA has done a brilliant job in difficult conditions and would like to carry on in a similar manner.

The following is my election manifesto.

I will be even handed to all members in my admin decisions.
I will not accept admin or moderating bashing by members or guests the reduction of this nonsense will improve the readability of the forum.
I will creat a complaints thread in PA confidential where members can raise any objections to my admin or moderator actions. All of these issues will be discussed in this single thread. No whining outside this thread will be tolerated.
I will appoint moderators I believe to be solid and responsible members. If a moderator abuses their position they will be instructed to change and if they do not they will be promptly removed.
I am not in favour of banning members however continued disruption of the forum or continued complaints that are unwarranted about the admin or mods not contained in the " Complaints" thread will result in a holiday. There will be no appeal.
Posting of illegal matter will not be tolerated. It will be my judgement with the assistance of mods as to what is legal. While I will accept advice it will need to be contained in the " complaints" thread.
New members will always be welcome however I am Not here to mother them. They will need to intergrate into the community through their contribution and debate.
Members rights to freedom of expression will be preserved under my admin and no heavy handed moderation will occur.
Those here to just bitch and be disruptive will be given ever increasing holidays.
I am here for all members not just those with similar political views.
Debate will be encouraged.
While I can not make any promises of "new blood", with the containment of the admin and mod bashing to one thread this should improve the readability of this forum and improve interactions in its threads.

Of course flames and replies are happening, bit hard to stop those when demented obsessives get going. Easier just to remove them, censor or redact them. Some people here would have posts full of thick black lines in that case. Happy for the on topic ones to stay just the personal crap that has nothing to do with the topic or never ending unsubstantiated claims need to be seen to.

Will this complaints section be members only?

Name the Moderators you referred to. People ought to know what they are going to get under any administration of yours, NOIQ's and mine. I will have no hesitation advising Members who I will appoint as part of my Platform.

Personally I don't think the members should know who the Mods are.
Especially if they are active members.
just call them Mod1, Mod2 etc...
It's enough that skippy knows who they are and acts in good faith when there are problems.

Oh and who you HOPE to instigate as Mods is VERY important. I think people should name them BEFORE we get to vote. I, for one, would definitely NOT vote for somebody who promised a certain person a Modship.
