Wow, no posts on this? In the Sheep Pen Sheepy has Rudd already convicted, hung, drawn & quartered!

I did see the Senate committee, at the end of like 2 hours of badgering by Abetz Mr Gretch, crying and clearly out of his depth--Rudd has said no retribution will be made to Mr Gretch--mumbled something about he thought that he seemed to recollect something about an email or something. In other words, the committee found zip. Gretch had spoken to journalist Steve Lewis like four times--a no no for a public servant.

Rudd has properly asked the Auditor General to conduct a probe into the email.

It is salutary to remember that:

1. The 13yo ute was loaned to Rudd for use in campaigning when Rudd was just a frontbencher--2006 at the latest, 3.5 years ago minimum. There was no gift of a ute after the GFC hit or anything like that. The ute had been properly declared on Rudd's Register of Interests;

2. The car dealer, John Grant, did NOT in fact receive any money from Ozcar

Since Turdbull saw fit to try and intimidate Rudd's economic adviser and ran out of his own press conference after just two questions asked by journalists we can fairly assume that Turdbull doesn't really have anything.


Any wonder that the public regards politicians as lower than journalists and used car salesmen? Only someone desperate to be PM, like Turdbull, would have run with this furphy at all.

Holy fucking shit, Batman, Kevy is calling in the AFP as well as the Auditor General! The email was fake (as the AG enquiry will show) and the AFP will find who fabricated it.

Take it from me, boyz and gulz, Turdbull is for the manure heap! Hockey for Oppn Leader, Abbott as Deputy leader?

Rudd is fucking smart, too smart by several country miles to call enquiries when he doesn't know the answer they will come up with! Say what you like about Rudd: he is a nerd, works 20 hours a day and relaxes by reading detailed thick history books. High IQ, he is respected by those who deal with him.

So, big Fib furphy, now someone is going to rue the day they decided to go on this mad course of action. Shades of Martin Hamilton-Smith and a fake email about Labor seeking donations from the Scientology cult! Turdbull is a fool, a fool, fooled by his own overweening vanity, driven by an ambition to be PM regardless of who or what got damaged on his way to that position. Attabull should just resign and enjoy his wealth: he is cactus fucktus!

In a couple days when Sheepy wakes up that what he wrote about Rudd is 100% wrong I will be interesting to see what he will say, will let the thread just fade out of view like Sheepy always does when he is found to be completely wrong about something which he always is.

Mr Rudd said Opposition Leader Malcolm Turnbull had claimed to be in possession of documentary evidence that indicated his office had lobbied on behalf of Ipswich car dealer John Grant.

Mr Turnbull had now changed his tune and his integrity was at stake, said Mr Rudd.

"Today Mr Turnbull is in full retreat on this claim," Mr Rudd told reporters in Canberra.

"How easy it is in the business of national politics simply to throw mud at people and then having thrown the mud to run away.

"Mr Turnbull's done that today."

Mr Turnbull earlier rejected claims the Opposition is involved in the alleged email and called on the Treasurer to resign over the matter.

"The email was not composed by anyone in the Liberal Party or anyone in the Opposition, it was not provided to the Telegraph by anybody in the Opposition," Mr Turnbull said.

Mr Swan also says the email is a fake and that Mr Turnbull has some explaining to do.

"We have this smear campaign against the Prime Minister which has been mounted on the basis of a false email which has been sighted by the Opposition," he told a Brisbane press conference.

"And I think today Mr Turnbull has a responsibility to outline how he saw it, where he saw it and who provided that to the Opposition."

Mr Swan said his office gave the car dealer the same help as other constituents and that he stands by his statement to Parliament that he did not follow up the case.

The Auditor-General will also be investigating the matter.

On 10 News Bourgiorno calling the Ute-Gate affair a beat up and that it looks like a dirty trick that has blown up in Turnbull’s face. He said that Turnbull is already “walking away” from the email.

He points out that even the News Ltd. papers called it “the alleged email”, which implies they weren’t even sure of its authenticity.

The man dying of swine flu was front page of today’s Advertiser, the ute gate issue only made it to page 3.

Someone's head will roll over this. There's always a trace of an email. If the geeks can't find it, it isn't there.

I used to post at that site monk, its a great site but mostly left wingers agreeing with each other, do you post there?

As for the story itself, wow, 24 hours is a long time in politics,Friday the opposition were calling for Rudds head and now the tables have turned, unless Turnbull can pull out this email we could have a new opp leader by the end of the week.
