The Catholic Church in America, along with the Mormon Church, funded a proposition in California to make same-sex marriage illegal in that state. This work was done under-the-table and to public it looked like a grassroots movement against gays. It was not. By your silly logic this would not have been "Catholic" at all because the pope didn't make a pronouncement at St. Peter's nor was it posted on vatican.va

Do you realized the Catholic Church is made up of organizations such as the Knights of Columbus and other lay fraternal organizations? Are you saying they are not Catholic?
