In my job I have observed that on a full moon the loons really do come out. It is usually a much tougher night during a full moon. Except, oddly with Aboriginals, they seem to calm down.

Strange that.

There is no statistically significant relationship between the moon cycle and "crazies". No increase in hospital admission, not increase in police lock-up stats.

It's an urban legend that probably goes back to the days before artificial lighting, where people where more likely to "get up to mischief" after dark, when the moon was fuller, giving a bit of light so they could get around.

Boxy I believe it is something to do with the moons gravitational pull...think about it, if the moons gravity can pull the tides in and out..creating king tides even..what could it do to the human body which is made up of approximately 80% water..our brain , known as the "moistest" organ in the body is effected due to the higher water content.

On a full moon crime rates etc are up. There is the "Murder Moon" and the "Bloody Moon"..

Luna, prefix of the word “lunatic.” Greek

Boxy is right about the statistical evidence, still I deal with significant amounts of violence in my job and it does get worse on a full Moon. Perhaps the it the same amount of people, people with problems, only they get worse on a full Moon?

You believe your astrologers, Ausgurl, but I'm skeptical.

BTW Ausgurl, a full moon doesn't effect the tides one little bit. A dark moon exerts exactly the same gravitational pull as a moon that is fully lit. Tides are daily, not monthly.

Astrology is no more real than Boxy's sense of humour.

But you got to admit, you are a crab. Tell us, are you a Cancer?
