Anyone who sacks frontline public service delivery staff - health, education, policing etc - deserves to be put against a brick wall and fucking machine gunned

Forgot for a minute that I'm no longer a communist :)

While I strongly disagree with what he's doing there, I doubt that your job as a teacher will be under threat Celetina. It will be mainly bureacracy workers that will go I think.

WEll, yeah, I keep being told by right wing nongs that the states have huge armies of bureaucrats, so cut some of them maybe. Never see figures or hard data of course, RWDBs are above that sorta stuff and their shit don't stink.

Yeah, jerks.

Total public sector employment has fallen very significantly over the neo-liberal period, from more than a quater of the total workforce in 1970 to around 13% today (ABS data which I will now have to scratch up :) ). Doesn't exactly add up to an "army".

They forget that public sector workers - like all others - are consumers and spend what they are paid back into the private sector and that the private sector alone has NEVER been able to employ all those seeking work - which suits the neo-liberals just fine. Fucking NAIRU is bullshit.
