Peter Ruz has told the Insulation Royal Commission he tried to tell the Rudd Government about the dangers of foil just two weeks after former Kevin Rudd announced the $2.8 billion home insulation program on February 3 2009.
Mr Ruz, from the Insulation Council of Australia and New Zealand, said he pointed out the dangers at a February 18 round table of industry figures who had gathered to plan the rollout.
Mr Ruz told Counsel Assisting Keith Wilson, QC, the response from government figures about the New Zealand deaths was “uncomfortable.’’
