Why taking a boat is not the same as a plane

Post by IQS.RLOW » Wed Jan 15, 2014 9:36 pm

...and other dumb questions stupid motherfuckers that have no idea fail to comprehend so they latch on to Clive Palmers nut sack.

Here's the scoop you stupid fucking morons. Taking a plane requires a visa and identity papers to get into the country. Now the question I have been seeing from the brainless dumbfucks is that "oh but they just overstay their visas and disappear into the community"

That's right dipshits, they disappear but are unable to claim centrelink benefits, housing or other taxpayer funded social security hence why they all love to come by boat because its not Australian citizenship they seek, it's the fucking tax file number.

No wonder you would vote for Palmer or the ALP you fucking retarded cocksucking waste of oxygen  you are seriously too stupid to fucking vote.

Calm Down, IQ. Mate!

Did you have a question to ask and discuss or were you just showing your annoyance? :stop

Aussie is probably giving cabbie jobs to asylum seekers. Monk is looking for his "true love" amongst them. Mantra is afraid that her daughter will bring one of them home. 8-)

How are illegal immigrants who arrive by boat able to receive that tax number?

If it's any thing like here they probably try to claim asylum and your government grants it they're now in the system. We get that a lot from our version of "boat people", aka Cubans.

So those who arrive by plane don't bludge off the system? They don't pay tax and they take jobs away from Australians. Do we want to establish a thriving black market for foreign workers? As far as using tax payer funded resources - if they've got friends and relatives living here - they use their medicare and health care cards for free health and cheap travel.

Oh, and everyone who buys something pays TAX (GST). If they work they should be paying Income
Tax as well and would need a Tax File Number to lodge a Tax Return.

They don't pay income tax because they have no fucking income. You need a tax file number to get a job Mantra  Not many businesses pay workers in cash under the table, so you leftys who throw the "plane people" into the mix are just trying to distract from the awful fuck up you did with boat people making excuse after excuse, pulling the "ooooh look over there" trick.

Plenty of small businesses pay cash only to their employees. Most of them would if they had the chance - even those owned by second generation Australians. There are restaurant staff, labourers, home maintenance workers etc. who are only too willing to work for cash and employees will hand it over willingly.

Either way whether they come here by boat or plane - over stayers or refugees are still an ongoing cost to the taxpayer. If and when they're caught - they're all held in detention and then sent back home at our expense.

It will be interesting to see how Abbott's new life boats will be used when they've all been sent to Indonesia. Will we purchase more? The smugglers still get their fees plus new boats as well. If they accumulate 5 or 6 seaworthy boats from us - it means they will at least be able to transport refugees to Australia more safely in the future.

If these boats can accommodate 56 passengers - then they're not that small.
Australia has for the first time used one of its new lifeboats to send a group of 56 asylum seekers back to Indonesia in a move that is likely to plunge the bilateral relationship to a new low.

Instead they were picked up by an Australian Navy vessel, HMAS Stuart, and kept overnight before being transferred to a Customs and Border Protection vessel.

The men said they were tricked into thinking they were going to be taken to Christmas Island. But they were put on a small, bright orange lifeboat-style vessel close to the Indonesian shore, with only enough fuel to return there.

The Indonesian man who captained their wooden asylum boat was put at the helm of the Australian lifeboat to complete the three-hour journey.

No they don't and no they wouldn't- the only people who want to work in cash are tradies and small businesses who are "paid" by their customers in cash. There is not much benefit to paying workers in cash and plenty of downside.

Maybe you need to try operating in the real world instead of lalaleftyland? You wouldnt spit so much dribble about shit that you know fuckall about.

No, not surprisingly you are wrong again. Economic illegals by boat ditch their papers so authorities don't know where they came from. If they come by plane, they have a passport and a visa. We know exactly where they have come from so we can send them back. Are you playing stupid deliberately or you just cant handle that the GALP and the left are all as ignorant as you are and you all have a lack or morals that you'd rather keep on killing people than face the fact that you are wrong.

Theyre liferafts you fucking ignorant dipshit. They aren't designed as ocean going vessels. Why do you keep making stupid, idiotic statements?

You leftys are truly ignorant scum

This is a large liferaft!

Image

Liferaft versus lifeboat

Liferafts in general are collapsible, and stored in a heavy-duty fiberglass canister, and also contain some high-pressure gas (in commercial models, usually compressed air) to allow automatic inflation to the operations size. SOLAS and military regulations require these to be sealed, never opened by the ship's crew; they are removed at a set periodicity (annually on merchant vessels) and sent to a certified facility to open and inspect the liferaft and contents. In contrast, a lifeboat is open, and regulations require a crew member to inspect it periodically and ensure all required equipment is present.

Modern lifeboats have a motor; liferafts usually do not. Large lifeboats use a davit or launching system (there might be multiple lifeboats on one), that requires a human to launch. Lifeboat launching takes longer and has higher risk of failure due to human factors. However lifeboats do not suffer from inflation system failures as inflatable liferafts do.

Recently,[when?] smaller self-rescue lifeboats have been introduced for use by boats with fewer people aboard: these are rigid dinghies with CO2-inflated exposure canopies and other safety equipment. Like the lifeboats used before the advent of the petrol engine, these self-rescue dinghies are designed to let the passengers propel themselves to safety by sailing or rowing. In addition to their use as proactive lifeboats, these self-rescue dinghies are also designed to function as unsinkable yacht tenders. See photos of proactive lifeboat.

The International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) makes it a requirement for merchant ships to have liferafts on each side of the ship, sufficient for all the people on board (the stated capacity of the lifeboat, irrespective of the fact that there may actually be fewer people on board). However, if the lifeboats are "easily transferable" (viz. have an open deck between port and starboard lifeboat decks), the number of liferafts may be reduced to a total sufficient for the ship's capacity.[clarification needed]

The equipment carried in a liferaft is much less than a lifeboat. Vis a vis lifeboats, liferafts are not self-righting and have no motor.
