I just like to think that any civilization that could master interstellar spaceflight has something better to do then pick on lower lifeforms is all.

What's more likely...

1. Aliens are going through the expense of traveling interstellar distances to come to Earth for the sole purpose of trolling airline pilots and sodomizing rednecks.

2. Sometimes people hallucinate.

Yeah... if they were going to bother to come here, I'd expect we'd be colonised in fairly short order. Surely not all alien species are going to be altruistic "Starfleet" types... I'm pretty sure we wont be, if we ever make it out there

Depending on their method of interstellar space flight I'd be very worried about this, Boxy. If they have some method of FTL flight then we should be cool, as the power generation requirements alone would require a full blown type two civilization, which in turn requires solving the riddle of sustainable high-output power generation system (no need for resources and space is wide open, so no need to compete for resources). If they're riding in slower-than-light generation ships then we're probably fucked, as those are going to always be a form of multi-generation colony ships.
