Labor had to clean up the mess from the baby boom created by the baby bonus. They had to clean up after the illegal invasions into the ME and pay off all those refugees who were illegally detained. They also had to clean up after the GFC which the earlier Coalition government helped create by supporting an unsustainable and unregulated free enterprise.

All gays are automatically assumed to be lefties. not by me. Not all gays want to get married said that b4 a great many times... - nor do all lefties agree with gay marriage. true. It's a minor issue which most advanced countries accept because it is not of major significance. That's where you are wrong... Not in Australia though. The regressives feel threatened even though there are so few successful hetero marriages. Thankfully the regressive Progressives don't hold sway yet and if there was a referendum they'd get stomped on.

The self professed righties are regressive and can't stand living in the 21st century. I prefer it very much thanks BTW not all LW are progressives... Let's go back to 1900 - the days before unions existed and workers didn't have a living wage.

Recently IQ - you complained about the state of our education and it was a valid complaint. Solution - send your kids to a private school. Did you know that we haven't got enough public schools now thanks to the baby bonus. The baby bonus? Blind freddy could see this coming. Don't use our public hospital system either - it can barely cope with the poor. Wealthy people such as yourself don't need access to them. In fact the regressives would probably be happy to see only subsidised private hospitals in existence. Let's become like the US where if your poor - you're nothing and aren't entitled to free health services. They even have the once middle class living on the streets now thanks to the Republicans stuffing the world up with the GFC. Australia isn't the US mantra and your political bias disease is getting worse it seems.

Don't ever use an ombudsman or expect subsidised day care for your kids. The only thing stopping these regressives from ridding our streets of the inferior, is our police force and judicial system which hasn't yet been privatised. Labor continued with the baby bonus, they could have stopped it when they came to power in 2007. Nope. They didn't do that, did they?

I didn't agree with it in the first instance but to say that Labor had

You also know, Mantra, that I did not agree with The War after 9/11. At least Tony Abbott is bringing the troops home for Christmas ... this year, I gather. I never forgave Howard for sending our 1,000 (or whatever it was, VERY minimal though) troops on another American wild goose chase. They did get Saddam, but originally he wasn't the target, Bin Laden was .... or was it searching for WMDs? Bloody Stupid. ALL WARS ARE STUPID in my opinion.

Oh, and the GFC had absolutely no affect on Australia .... it started in the USA and didn't even get here, although Krudd sent out $900 cheques to all and sundry, including dead people, and those who are living overseas, permanently. What a bloody waste!

Apart from all that and getting back ON TOPIC. There will not be open slather for homosexuals (both varieties) to get "married" in Australia. The Federal Government could, if they wanted to waste money, go for a Referendum on the issue and knock it on its head forever!
