BREAKING Bad star Bryan Cranston has reportedly been cast as supervillain Lex Luthor in the Man Of Steel sequel, alongside Ben Affleck as Batman and Henry Cavill as Superman.

Cranston is said to have signed at least a six-appearance deal with DC Comics,
which means he may have more chances to destroy Superman in future Justice League films, according to Cosmic Book News.

An official announcement is expected to be made after the conclusion of the final season of Breaking Bad.

Comic book fans will probably welcome Cranston's hiring, following his celebrated portrayal of Walter White - a timid science teacher who starts cooking meth to pay his medical bills.

An insider told Cosmic Book News: "Cranston truly is a dream casting for Luthor."

With Affleck on board, DC is also rumoured to be considering Matt Damon for the roles of Aquaman or Martian Manhunter.

Mark Strong may also join in the role of Green Lantern mentor Sinestro, which he played in the recent Green Lantern film.

THOR: The Dark World
Not as good as the first imo... good effects, makeup, a bit of a pig in a poke, but has some really good scenes.
Branagh's movie was better directed.

I think I will give this one a miss and wait for it to come out on cable.

Given that the first Thor flick was a lacklustre contribution, that's probably a good decision.

The only thing that will save the Thor franchise from not being the suckiest superhero lamefest will be the launch of the Aquaman franchise

Are we really looking forward to more of this?

Star Wars Episode VII to be released on December 18 2015 Disney announce

Disney chief executive Bob Iger says new Star Wars film "one of the most important" as he announces latest instalment will be in cinemas on December 18 2015 .

The next movie in the "Star Wars" franchise will arrive in theatres on Dec. 18, 2015, Walt Disney Co said on Thursday, two weeks after producers hired a new writer to shepherd the script into production.

Disney purchased "Star Wars" producer Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion in 2012 and promised at least three more films in the series, one of the biggest movie franchises of all time.

"This, obviously, is one of the most important movies we have in the next few years, and we've chosen a date we believe will allow the creative team the time to make a great film," Disney chief executive Bob Iger said in a conference call with Wall Street analysts.

The pre-Christmas date puts the film's release in the prime holiday movie season, a departure for the "Star Wars" franchise. The previous six films have all been released in May, in time for the summer movie season.

Filming of the new movie, currently called "Star Wars: Episode VII," is set to begin in spring 2014 and will be directed by J.J. Abrams, who is best known for directing the most recent films in the "Star Trek" science fiction series.

Filming will take place in England, returning the franchise to its British roots as the six previous "Star Wars" films were all partly filmed at studios in Britain.

No acting choices have been announced, but original cast members Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford have been in talks to appear in the forthcoming film.

Last month, producer Kathleen Kennedy said Lawrence Kasdan would team with Abrams to write the screenplay, replacing Oscar-winning screenwriter Michael Arndt on the project.

Kasdan co-wrote the screenplays for the second and third "Star Wars" films, "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi."

The "Star Wars" franchise, which was created by director George Lucas, has grossed more than $4.4 billion at the worldwide box office since the first film was released in 1977.

If they keep George away from it and everyone that had anything to do with Jar Jar Binks, it might stand a chance.

Don't get me started on the flogging of dead horses, that pre-sequels have become

There are few that make it to even trilogy status, without becoming sell-outs... let alone 7, 8... 9 :pope
