Abbott breaks Indonesian law

Post by mantra » Wed Oct 02, 2013 10:21 pm

What an arrogant thug our new PM is. We can assume on his visit to Indonesia that he's gagged the Australian journalists who were permitted to attend the press conference - but the Indonesian journalists were treated like dirt and excluded completely from the conference. No Indonesians were allowed to question him and he has been accused of being discriminatory. Is he a racist?
“The press law in Indonesia says it is a crime to limit journalists to get access to information. The penalty for that is two years' imprisonment,” Mr Umar said.

“We cannot accept whatever reason Australia gave for limiting access to information for Indonesian journalists.”

Indonesian language newspaper Rakyat Merdeka spent a large part of page 10 of its Wednesday edition focused on the snub, saying it was discriminatory.

“What's the use for him coming all the way to Indonesia if he only gives a press conference to Australian journalists?” the paper asked.

Another lie from Mantra!

What an ever growing list!

What a fantastic visit by a real PM to Indonesia. The frothing at the mouths by the leftys confirms it was a winner :thumb

It's also a crime to practice religious freedom in Indonesia.

A crime to limit press freedom also they say?

Did you know Indonesia recently refused legal status to the spiritual group Falun Gong. The group is also banned in China and human rights organisations say the ruling to restrict Falun Gong in Indonesia was made to maintain good relations with China.

Get on Chinas highly censored version of twitter, (weibo) and type "Falun Gong" or "64"... see what happens.

I dare you!

8-) Do the same in Indonesia and see how far you get there also.

Bottom line.... refugee sympaths stop wallowing in Indonesia’s pious rhetoric and pseudo-nationalistic propaganda .. we need to get serious about national and border security, now more than ever with a Syria crisis.

Indonesia have very little regard for westerners, particularly Australians and Americans and have far more in common with Communist China who's Big Brother they aim to please.

It's not just about stopping the boats Mantra, and those too ignorant to see the bigger picture here are going to regret having objected to Abbotts policies in the near future.

China -vrs- America

East -vrs- West

China= Communist = ALP= Guardian + SMH +Fairfax + pro-Climate Change + pro-carbon tax+ pro-refugee .

America =Capitalist = Liberal = News Corp + Murdoch + sceptical of Climate Change + oppose carbon tax+conservative re-refugee uptake.

If the left would feel more at home living in China, Russia, Indonesia or North Korea ... ...then by all means, turn your back on your own nations sovereignty and border security.

You lot bang on about climate change , as though this were the only threat to our way of life.

I think you will feel quite differently in a decade or so.

Or even less if the Syria crisis worsens.

Time to get real!

So with Indonesia being the insular nation it is - why refuse the local journalists to sit in on the press conference? Abbott certainly hasn't endeared the Indonesians by this hostile rejection. You would think that we might try and placate them a little seeing as we're going to expect quite a bit of co-operation in the future.

I've tried a few international newspapers for more information - unfortunately I can't understand the language.

It's also about what the Indonesians have to cope with - not just us. Even Abbott finally acknowledged that after his visit. We don't want them here - but they don't want them there either. They have even less resources to cope with them than we have.

I don't bang on about climate change. I sit on the fence on this issue, but I didn't have a problem with the tax simply because I reduced my electricity use - which was the whole purpose of it. However when we go international with carbon credit trading - we will still end up with a carbon price - so Abbott's promises about a repeal of the tax now will mean nothing in a couple of years time when one will be forced on us anyway. How else will big business manage to gain carbon credits or trade in them?

The only people that care about this are the leftard fuckwits here who latch onto to any tiny little item and try to spin it as a major issue.

No one cares and everyone recognises what the leftard fuckwits are trying to do and failing so very very badly at it.

It doesn't make you right and it doesn't hurt the government. It just makes you look like petty small minded fuckwits.

It has been reported that it was a press conference for the Australian press only because it was about Australian domestic issues.

A handful of press that work for what has been described as the LW/prog media in Indonesia is hardly representative of it's government or its people.

As for the Asylum seekers only the ratbag press have been running labor and Green propaganda. The issues were described quite clearly by Jim Molan.

General Molan was instrumental in developing the Coalition's Operation Sovereign Borders asylum-seeker policy, under which border protection would come under the command of a three-star military commander.

He has been a key player in designing and promoting the Coalition's asylum-seeker policies, including helping to launch Operation Sovereign Borders when Mr Abbott and his immigration spokesman Scott Morrison announced the policy in July.

That policy in turn gave rise to the special envoy role, which was announced two weeks ago and entails liaising with Jakarta and other regional players on deterring people smuggling.

Oh, so they're doing the same as you did for the past 6 years, and now your QQing about it, all of a sudden.

Cry me a river.
