Re: Designing a beer (Pack)
It must have crossed your mind that you ain't my favourite Member because you are nothing at all PA like.
However, you have sparked an interest.
I am presently building a working scale model of the Bismarck. Not easy, and not hard as one receives on a weekly basis the necessary bits, and clear, simple instructions. So, here is your chance to be of value.
On a weekly basis, just ONCE a week, give me instructions on how to make a beer, from nothing to something. Assume I have no tools, other than a capacity to follow simple easy to understand instruction.

Am I still a newbie Aussie?Aussie wrote:It must have crossed your mind that you ain't my favourite Member because you are nothing at all PA like.
This is PA now and it's likely to stay this way for the time being - but there are still some old members posting here, so that's something good.
Re: Designing a beer (Pack)
Brewing beer is not like assembling pre-made plastic bits.

Monk, I have already seen that site. I want a PA version. Step by easy step, week by week.
Like:
Lesson One: You need to get...................
Lesson Two: You go to (here nominate where) here to buy them. It should cost............
etc etc etc.
I want that stuff posted here, specific to PA, step by agonising step.

Put it in the thread "Brewing For Dotards" please. Not here.

If my on-line manual ain't enough try this:
http://www.howtobrew.com
Good luck! Brewing is a craft and, in the recipe formulation stage especially, requires imagination and creativity. Hope you find a 1. . .2. . .3 place somewhere.

Re: Designing a beer (Pack)
Well the bottles of my first attempt at home brew don't show any signs of stress so I'm hoping that means I can leave them until they are ready to drink. This is all very exciting. Slight chance it may not work out due to that lying bastard Jane Reilly saying it would be warmer when it was fucking freezing. Then again I can always try again and get myself a heating rod for the next fermentation.
Re: Designing a beer (Pack)
Just wrap the fermenter in a nice thick blanket or old coat, duna, sleeping bag etc. Pick up and shake your bottles every seven days to keep the yeast active producing the fizz.
Re: Designing a beer (Pack)
I wrapped it with my brother's old crows jacket. According to the thermometer, 20-22 degrees Celsius was the norm for the first few days so hopefully it did the trick.
