Oh, I dunno.
4K TV will be pretty big in 2-3 years and that needs gigabit broadband. Turncoat can either:
1. Deliver nothing except fibre to greenfields, or
2. Attempt to roll out FTTN to brownfields. With Telstra copper being just rotten and too thin and Telstra’s database of cables and their condition being mostly wrong Turncoat would enter a world of pain. so he will have to;
3. Convince Tone to roll out FTTH.
1. Means by the time of the next election most of the electorate is pissed off they can’t download 4K TV movies. Jealousy of those lucky enough to be on fibre grows exponentially.
2. Means getting bogged just finding out whats what with the copper. Take years, cost $Bns
3. Will be Turncoat’s best bet—but he will want it done in a way he can profit from it—cherry picking, leading to higher prices and lots more jealousy.
The gruesome swearing in ceremony—Turncoat was wondering around, separate, not wanting to be confused with the deadwood who had brought babies etc to witness said deadwood being sworn in to a Ministry they can’t really handle.
(Elder seems to think only Robb will be able to do a fair job.)

Re: Fraudband
Doesn't matter what you think, or any other fake blogger.
You will get what the LIbs give you and you will be grateful for what you are given.
It's not like you can afford a new TV anyway being a pensioner, but nice to know you're willing to spend $94bn on an entertainment system for pirating movies.

Re: Fraudband
nah—see how you can never argue the details? Guess the codeine is doing its job for you?
Turnbull must be looking at a similar list of options and working out a way out of that morass. The way he had no answers and abused people asking him reasonable questions about #Fraudband shows he knows it is a nonsense. He is into technology and must know 4K TVs will start selling in volume in a couple of years.

Re: Fraudband
The details would have been argued with a cost/benefit analysis that Conjob refused because he knew the costs would be massive and benefits would fuckall.
We'll get one now and you dreamers of rivers of cash can wallow in your stupidity all fucking day thinking of things that have never been invented to use on a non-existent network.

Re: Fraudband
God you are dumb and pathetic in your inability to argue a point.
A CBA would have no value in a 60 year project like the NBN. When the CAN was laid down a CBA wasn’t done and if it had been—it would not have considered the internet because that wasn’t even a thought in anyone’s mind. The NBN will be more like a 100 year project.
Now 4K TVs are here—are in the shops—and the argument in the business case for the NBN re multicasting just got stronger. In a couple of years 4K TVs will be cheap enough to start selling in volume—only what will people be able to watch on their tellies? I am sure Turncoat is thinking hard on this—his future career in politics depends on it.
Once 4K TVs are out in volume—8K TVs with four times the data load will start arriving in the shops.
Re rivers of gold—the NBN will be providing a huge cash flow. Many many more people are signing up to the 100 & 50 mbps speeds, the 4K TV multicasting etc etc will all provide a substantial cash flow to govt. ARPU is WAY higher than estimated!
Fraudband, its lack of speed, its single speed band (somewhere under 25mbps,) its inability to multicast can only ever make a loss and that loss will be on–Budget loss. Fraudband is also a betrayal of those in the regions.

Re: Fraudband
No one cares or wants your taxpayer funded entertainment system.
No one cares about your 4K TV sets.
Your rejection of a CBA only highlights that you still have no fucking idea what to use all that bandwidth for

One hopes Turncoat is a bit more switched on than you. Then again, mellie is more switched on than you!
I am sure Turncoat is aware of 4K TV and what it needs. Now he has to try and work with the simian and try and make sure his field is not the one that loses the Libs the next election. I await eagerly the policy gymnastics to come.
