What doesn't she know about politics? She is an extremely savvy woman who has worked for some intelligent corporate leaders. Her life has always been about trying to break through the glass ceiling and trying to ensure women have a voice.

As for “competence” I point to the badly damaged relations with our nearest large neighbor. But I guess “competence” is about the only way to defend the misogynistic simian’s choice of cabinet. Woman’s place is in the home.

The Coalition does not have a "quota system" when appointing Ministers. You get appointed because:

a) you have the background, experience, etc
b) you are a team person and have proved it

There is absolutely no reason, at all, to appoint "newbies" just because they are female, black, homosexual or disabled. Unlike the ALP.
