Yeah, but my old gas HWS is about to kark it so I need a new HWS soon. Solar HW gives a good quick return.

Solar PV I will wait till some second generation stuff comes along. Present systems have the solar cells exposed to the sun & heat which makes them much less efficient. There is stuff with organic coatings/dye that causes the light to hit the glass and then travel through the glass to the cells around the rim which don't have to be in the sun and so work much more efficiently plus as they are just around the rim we can use a lot less cells saving $$$.

Whatever. SE Australia is drying up due to Global Warming, not that much point building dams. Green powered desal plants are better--don't depend on the weather.

I have expounded b4 that perhaps we need to build flood control dams in Qld the water from which can be directed into the MD. Planting/maintaining native vegetation at the headwaters of the Darling will increase rainfall there.
