QLD teachers to strike tomorrow.

Post by Leftofcentresalterego » Mon May 18, 2009 9:38 pm

Nice and quiet at school tomorrow. TV news states that QLD teachers have not struck for 9 years. Actually, I have been in the school system for around 13 years and the last time they struck was before I started. Hope they have a win - becoming increasingly difficult to attract quality students to the profession. Bachelor of Education now more like a last resort than a first choice for many.

Yup. They will likely go ahead cancelling the 8c/L petrol subsidy which should help pay for the pay increase.

I would say the lacking quality of education courses at university would be playing an important part. Also the constant media bashing about teachers fearing for their lives and how some public schools have become war zones. All bullshit of course but, hey, never let the truth get in the way of a good story huh media fuckers?????
