I dont know what industry you actually work in, but I’m in a medium sized company and we are struggling with 40mbps up and down. Why are we talking about ‘stepping stones’ ? I never mentioned that, nor do I think it’s a necessary or ideal strategy to build stepping stones. We should also not talk about ‘future proof’ networks, as telecoms today is not about future proofing, as technology and applciations change very fast, this is true for all [...]
Business has more of a need for far larger than 2 – 10Mbps right now.. not in 10 years .. Do you even know whats going on in the online markets right now? cloud, backups, virtualisation, voip, email..
Your entire arguement(sic) is a joke, business is already struggling with over priced and under bandwidth products from tel$tra .. yet here you are suggesting its going to be ok for the next 10 years, LOL

This example is a business that is trying to use it pipe into the internet for a business that probably has many users and servers. That is not an argument for fibre to homes it is an argument that thus business should do a proper network design internally and buy for the appropriate bandwidth to the outside world.
One size does not fit all. What a stupid example.
This business fails to address it's needs by not understanding how it works. They need to capacity plan. You cannot expect an infinite pipe to be provided to all.
Always remember what you post, send or do on the internet is not private and you are responsible.

The problem with...
no let me rephrase that.
One of the problems with Monk is that he's swallowed the ALP propaganda hook line and sinker and divorced himself from reality.
All the accepted things we bring to the argument he dismisses out of hand, he's living in a Jetsons world not the real world.
For some reason he's linked all progress to the NBN, without considering the implications or reality.

Sounds like a business like many in the suburbs. Super Brown Noser also “forgets” to mention that with >1 user bandwidth available decreases and that content creation is increasing in terms of numbers and file sizes of photos, videos and video phone conversations. Within the time of the rollout cameras might be using 64meg pixels, that is eight times as many pixels as most cameras have now, meaning resolution and file size increases by the square of 8, so 64 times bigger.
That is not today but will be within the FTTP rollout period of 10 years.
Then, increasingly TV, movies will be downloaded over the web, in not 1080 but 4K and 8K resolutions. Short Dick might disparage that is spending $30Bn for an entertainment system—but it will be an entertainment system that will pay the govt a high rate of return on the investment.
If Turncoat persists with #Fraudband he is going to be in a world of pain as the state of the copper and the too–thin wires mean he just cannot deliver FTTN. That is why the Libs will just stop the rollout. Then they will face a rebellion, hah! Fuckwits will deserve what they are going to get unless they keep rolling out FTTP. Their best course is to do that and suddenly the LNP saboteurs in NBN co, in LNP councils/State govts will start facilitating the rollout and Turncoat can pose as its savior. Wonder what will happen—pass the popcorn.

Yes, I suggest you find a site about coloring in pictures with crayon, that would be about your speed. Or anywhere but here.

Keep out of my threads in future. Start your own if you like and I will ignore them. You have never once offered a post that contained something new or interesting or educational.

Re: Fraudband
Now now no need to chuck a tanty... I have offered many opinions mine included. Have you ignored them all?
I have also agreed with SN and IQS on major parts of the argument and tried debating you on them... have you ignored all of them?
It seems to me you have problems justifying the costs associated with the NBN.
The advances in technology and rate of change in the IT industry.
The global trend to wireless technologies and advances in it.
You mix myth with fact re E-health and other issues, all the while avoiding common-sense realities brought up by several of us a great many times.
The problem does not rest with me.
It does not rest with IQS and SN.
care to take a guess?
