SN, really, #Fraudband (which is what the Libs called Rudd’s idea when he was still proposing FTTN, before the tender process and the Panel of Experts handed down their finding) is going to struggle to deliver up to 25mbps. Really. The copper is rotten and getting worse and is too thin, at 0.32 and 0.4mm, to offer the low impedance higher speeds demand.

look Monk. I never said copper is better. 25Mbps is a huge speed to the home. It is a major improvement and is suitable for the near term future and on a RIO basis.. the right way to go for outlying locations for now.

The other is the advent of 4K TV with 8K TV not far behind. Up to 25mbps on a nice dry summers day is not going to cut it! For families, for small business where bandwidth is shared 25mbps is not very much! When 4K multicasting starts BOY will up to 25mbps be inadequate.

FTTN ==> FTTH is ridiculous! Spend all that money on #Fraudband then throw away all the cabinets. HUGE waste of money! In the meantime, education, business, health etc all go backwards in comparison to other Asian countries. Just a ridiculous waste of time and money and opportunity cost!

We could argue that we should all be given FTTH and a dedicated satellite link back to home so everyone can Facebook while away from the Gb/s FTTH and not be inconvenienced by having to suffer through 42Mb/s 4G.
