Nothing, apart from the fact that the Queen of England is the head of state, and we can probably live with that.

In theory, I support the notion of OZ becoming a republic .. BUT .. and there are several buts .. it has to be the right model.
As in a peoples' republic with a directly elected president [like the Yanks], not a politicians republic like the model Malcolm Turnbull tried to stitch us up with.
Be careful though, the republican agenda is often hijacked (like Turnbull did) for ulterior motives. In Turnbull's case for an opportunity to remove section 100 of the Australian Constitution [Chapter 4 - Finance & Trade) which prohibits the Commonwealth interfering with rivers (owned by the states) in order to achieve his long held water privatisation agenda.
Off topic, but this [water privatisation] is why Malcolm Turnbull must never be allowed to become Oz's PM.
If Donald Trump is so close to the Ruskis, why couldn't he get Vladimir Putin to put novichok in Xi Jjinping's lipstick?

Aussies are very fond of QE2 .... while she is our Head of State and once the Babyboomers die off, things will probably change.

Back in the news. Is this a breach of trust or an Aussie doing the right thing and she is just a bonza sheila after all.
'Republic of Australia' call by Queen's representative seen as 'a slap in the face'
Calls by the Queen's representative in Australia for the country to become a republic have been described as a 'breach of trust' and 'a slap in the face'
The Queen's representative in Australia, Governor-General Quentin Bryce, has been accused of a "breach of trust" over her historic call for the nation to become a republic, with critics saying the move was divisive and a "slap in the face".
Ms Bryce's unusual public declaration fuelled debate about Australia's ties to Britain but was attacked by monarchists and several MPs as an insensitive and inappropriate entry into the political arena.
"It was a serious error on her part," David Flint, from Australians for Constitutional Monarchy, told The Telegraph.
"It is disappointing that she should make a political comment. The crown is supposed to be above politics."

Christ, even your Queen is telling you guys to drop the farce and just go republic already. Y'all need to get your shit together, seriously. Not like it'd really result in much of a change if you did, after all a "constitutional monarchy" is just a republican system in drag.

Had nothing to do with being forced to recognize anything. Nobel Prizes are often given decades after the original discovery was made in order to see the actual impact the discovery has on its area of science. Seriously, please learn what the hell you're talking about before you post.

That's garbage Chard, and forget Australia becomming a republic anytime in the foreseeable future, why fix it if it's not broke? Our GG Quentin Bryce was always staunchy republican and poitically biased, hense Labor installed the silly old biddy.Furthermore, it's not the queens decision as to whether or not we become a republic, she's a senile old lefty, the queens mother would be horrified.

Ladies, Gentlemen, and IQ, I give you Mellie, a woman so daft she thinks the Queen of England, one of the most conservative women in the world, is a Leftist.
Stay classy, Mellie.
