Election live: Coalition pulls ahead in latest poll as campaign moves on

A new Nielsen poll out today has the Coalition leading Labor 52-48 on a two-party preferred basis.

Mr Rudd takes his campaign to Tasmania today, where Labor is fighting to hold onto the seats of Bass and Braddon in the state's north.

Mr Abbott is flying to north-east Arnhem Land and will make an Indigenous affairs policy commitment.

Meanwhile, the Coalition has drafted former ALP national president Warren Mundine to be a key advisor to Mr Abbott on Indigenous affairs.
