Pauline rises again

Post by Black Orchid » Mon Jun 03, 2013 12:18 pm

Pauline Hanson is poised to announce that she will run for a New South Wales Senate seat as part of the One Nation party at the next federal election.

A source has confirmed to the ABC that Ms Hanson has reconciled with the party she founded in 1997.

Ms Hanson last stood for One Nation in the 2001 Senate election.

Ms Hanson will not confirm which seat she will stand in.
There had been speculation that she would be running in the safe Labor seat of Hunter.

She is definitely resilient.

PAULINE Hanson has announced she will campaign for a Senate seat as a member of the One Nation party in the lead up to the federal election in September.

She said a lot of Australians were "fed up to the back teeth with both major political parties" and the high cost of living.

"I see politicians with their noses in the trough, especially last week with electoral funding ... I think it's wrong," she said.

Ms Hanson said she had taken the advice of her children to go onto Facebook and she would use YouTube and Twitter to connect with voters.

"They can actually watch clips of me, what I've said, and get the real truth, not the distorted versions from biased media reporters over the years," she said.

"I want them to know who Pauline Hanson is."

Ms Hanson said many people didn't know she had been married to a Polish refugee and that an Asian refugee had managed her fish and chip shop. yet we've had morons for years calling her and her party racist

"There's things people don't know about me, it's not about racism, it's about the proud Australian," she said.

Ms Hanson last tried to enter federal parliament as a senator on the eponymous Pauline's United Party ticket in 2007.

Nice one Pauline...
'Redhead you can trust': Pauline Hanson's back

CALLING herself the "redhead you can trust" Pauline Hanson has rejoined One Nation, the party she founded, and will stand as its NSW Senate candidate in the next federal election.

Ms Hanson has unsuccessfully stood six times for state and federal elections since being elected for one term as a member for Oxley in Queensland in 1996.

She last stood for One Nation in the 2001 Senate election. She said she had been forced to resign from the party in 2002 but had stayed in touch with people in the party and always supported their policies.

“The people of Australia deserve a fair go, a government that takes genuine care of our own Australians first, no matter what race, colour or creed,” she said in Sydney.

“Australians must stand up and protest against political parties who lack the guts to do what is best for Australia and its people.”

Ms Hanson named asylum-seekers, trust in the political system, welfare fraud and a defence of the Australian way of life as the issues she would stand on.

“We have much to improve on, but without a stable government who have the will and determination to control and stamp out the influx of illegal immigrants swamping our shores, the ripping off of our welfare system at the expense of genuine and worthy people, the constant attack on our Australian way of life and poverty in Australia.

“Our laws must be respected, our way of life must be respected, and embraced,” she said.

Ms Hanson denied that she was standing to make money out of election funding, saying she opposed public funding of elections and would be the first person to abolish it.

It was not right to prop up political parties when hospital beds were going empty because of lack of funds, she said.

In previous Senate attempts Ms Hanson has received more in electoral funding than she spent in campaigning.

She said an attempt to pass legislation last week which would have handed political parties an extra $20 million would be revived. “Let me assure you, this is not dead and buried, and through the dead of night, they will push this legislation through.”

Asked about her repeated attempts at a comeback, Ms Hanson said her track record “tells you I don't give up easily”.

“Yes, I have been in prison. Yes I have been trodden on, but I keep getting up,” she said.

NSW One Nation state director Ian Nelson said he had repeatedly asked Ms Hanson to return and now had a leader “with the X factor”.

NSW Greens Senator Lee Rhiannon said it would be disappointing if Ms Hanson's re-emergence led to another negative debate around multiculturalism policy. Really.... we should get rid of it and not even blink.

“The One Nation brand has often been associated with ugly politicking which might grab some headlines but has no place in the upcoming election,” Senator Rhiannon said. Well we've seen how ugly the Greens are Lee and how stupid.

Pauline Hanson's political career:

1996: Elected as independent for federal seat of Oxley

1996: Makes maiden speech to parliament, criticising immigration, multiculturalism and assistance to Aborigines

1997: Co-founds One Nation with David Oldfield and David Ettridge

1998: Loses federal seat

2001: Fails to win Queensland Senate seat in federal election as One Nation candidate

2003: Fails to win NSW upper house seat

2004: Fails to win Queensland Senate seat in the federal election as independent

2007: Launches Pauline's United Australia Party, again fails to collect a Queensland Senate seat at federal election.

2009: Stands as an independent candidate for the seat of Beaudesert in the Queensland state election but loses.

2011: Nominates as a candidate for the NSW upper house in the state election and loses.

2013: Announces she will rejoin One Nation and run for a NSW Senate seat at the September federal election.

So, the only election she's ever won was the one where she was listed as a Lib, after being booted at the last minute, despite actually being an independent?

Australia, get serious, you can do better than to vote this numpty into a state senate.

I admit she had the courage to raise issues that at the time no polly would discuss. Her time has come and gone. She has a PR problem she could never shake no matter what her convictions are. She will always attract the extremists. Bad PR for Australia if she was to get a seat.

Please explain!!!!!!!!!!!!
Always remember what you post, send or do on the internet is not private and you are responsible.

So....let's reward the theory that if you throw enough shit, people like SN will take it as gospel..........because she did not have the same PR firepower = media clout. I hope she gets up and somehow manages to return a favour or two sent her way by Abbott.

Oh dear... critique from afar...
To be honest she wasn't a racist, the media labelled her that thanks to Labor and its attempt to discredit the Libs. Didn't you know. please read the large font above.

As for extremists they support all parties. Only One Nation had to expel and post policy re members... and at all their meetings disclaim any racism or truck with it. My branch was like the UN SN, so I speak from first hand knowledge.
