When I was a teenager I lived in Nebraska, two states north of Oklahoma. Things are more modernized there these days, but folks live very much the same now as then in the midwest. I have family members living in Ohio, as well.

Aussie, I know very well that nature destroyed that community in Oklahoma. It was a terrible tragedy. I also know that Neffy can be sour and nasty and often says things that are cruel, and many times completely wrong.

In that particular post she got it right about some things in our American midwest. But too generalized. She could not know better than that without living here.

Another thing, the building standards in some midwestern areas are not that great, not up to code, the houses are old and run down, especially out in the country.

But of course a tornado of that magnitude would have devasted any area, no matter how well built the houses were.
