Better none of those idiots gets it and Wayne guides the economy another 3 years—the austerity the Libs will bring in will bring on a recession and recessions take up to eight years to recover from.

At least Hockey seems to be backing away from austerity—Tone and Robb are not, however—so Robb must have a good chance to be the new Lib Treasurer.

I think you miss the point, Roach. Abbott declares that we have a 'budget emergency,' so surely we ought to know, in advance of Sept. 14, who would be the LNP Treasurer, the person who will oversee (if Abbott wins) the LNP's management of that 'emergency.'

Will it be Hockey? After all, he is Shadow Treasurer, even though he does not have any economic credentials.......and was never a Rhodes Scholar.

Yeah—typical of numpty Abbott—we have “a Budget emergency” (told they are dying to impose austerity) but has no savings so, again, waves through the Labor savings) but “can’t” say what they are going to do until after Costello tells them to impose austerity and privatise what is left to privatise, just as in Queensland.

The fuckwits will precipitate a recession so deep that it will take more than the normal 8 years to recover from!

Hockey on Insiders just now said wtte “we must get back to Budget surplus ASAP” so he either didn’t really back away from austerity or got pulled intoo line by Tone.

Any attempt to bring the Budget into “surplus” quickly is austerity and austerity brings in its train recession, unemployment, inflation and despair.

It happened and is happening in the UK now. UK Budget deficit and borrowings as big as ever.
