Wooo areas to the north and west of Adelaide have reported good rain! Let it come down, oh mighty Flying Spaghetti Monster!
Re: Rain, real goddamn rain predicted for Adelaide. . .
Been raining steadily for 3 hours now! Not pelting down but nice steady soaking rains! Babies are crying, dogs howling, plants unfolding reaching eagerly, kids are puzzled and sore afraid, wet stuff from the sky doesn't happen often anymore

It's lovely isn't it? We've had lots of steady rain overnight, but it's cleared up today and is a beautiful cool Autumn day. Good steady rain just seems to clear the air and make everything cleaner - I just wish it could be saved. Most of it runs into the drains and out to sea.

Somewhere, over the rainbow, way up high.Jovial Monk wrote:A sunny fall day after good rain is hard to beat!
There's a land that I heard of Once in a lullaby.
Somewhere, over the rainbow, skies are blue.
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true.
Someday I'll wish upon a star and wake up where the clouds are far Behind me.
Where troubles melt like lemon drops, Away above the chimney tops.
That's where you'll find me.
Somewhere, over the rainbow, bluebirds fly. Birds fly over the rainbow,
Why then - oh, why can't I?
If happy little bluebirds fly beyond the rainbow,
Why, oh, why can't I?

Quite a bit of sunshine today, though still have clouds. 6.5KL tank full! Smaller 4.5L tank that just collects from back verandah roof 80% full!
Hope tomorrow evening dry then can piss down as much as the FSM wants.
Another nice rain band is over York Pen so should be here in a few hours.
Threw a tennis ball into the back of the garden for my demented (about chasing balls) terrier to chase and bring back. Couple of throws and she was black with mud up to her belly. She doesn't know it but tomorrow morning some time (closing shop in honor of Anzac Day) she will get the thing all dogs dread, i.e. a bath

My dog loves baths. She's notorious for jumping into the human bath tub......while there's hot water and a human in it.
The rain is lovely except for the fact that I had to walk outdoors for a long distance while it was pouring down. Had to go to some posh private school to hear some private school hack talk about how fantastic she is. Sorry that us real teachers had to pollute her space with our presence. Bloody big school - the parking on one side, the event held on the other side.

Talk about freaking cold! And more than a few showers! And the ring Demi went in was pretty damn poorly lighted!
Demi heeled like a pig in the trial, didn't drop quite properly when told to drop in the "heeling on a loose lead" bit of the trial and moved two feet in the 'stand for exam' bit (stoopid judge was practically rocking her for like 30 seconds instead of just a quick go over Demi's back) but sat like a rock for the one minute sit-stay and dropped like a log in the two minute drop-stay and Passed the trial!!!
It is now Lady Demi CCD! Woooooooo!!!! 84/100 less than I wanted
Of course CCD is an optional not too hard a title, the lowest of all dog obedience titles, but in the Gawler trial on New years Eve she ran out the ring and she was bombing trials until mid-March so i will happily take the 84/100--she passed the last three out of four trials and the one she bombed was the second Mt Gambier trial and few dogs pass two trials on consecutive days. Demi had been improving heaps in the last few weeks and 84/100 doesn't really do her justice but there you are.
Next rung on the ladder is CD, Companion Dog and the exercises are fairly similar but the whole trial is off lead and in the stand for exam instead of standing a small step away from Demi in the stand for exam I will be a metre away!
