. . .which I would usually be in raptures over, and part of me is.
But, but, but I am going to an obedience trial Sat evening and it will be cold and now it will also be wet. And, and, and the worst is Demi's terrier nature will come to the fore and she will just want to sniff all these delicious scents the wet earth in the trial ground will be sending up!
Maybe I should put Vic's VapoRub on her nose or something just before entering the ring?
For Mantra, the above para is a joke gurl, a joke! I should put the VacoRub on her chest hahahahahahahahahaha

I'm glad it is Monk - you know how slow I am at catching on to a joke - I never did get them!Maybe I should put Vic's VapoRub on her nose or something just before entering the ring?
The rain is lovely. My area is getting a deluge at long last and it's coming in spurts which is good. You have long enough to do a few things outside before it buckets down again. I even heard a few frogs croak in the garden this morning which is unusual for this time of year. This means their happy too.

In Perth we were supposed to have thunder storms, instead we got a weaker drizzle than a Mr. Burns orgasim.

But Adelaide does everything better!
For example, we have more murders

You have more convicted murderers.Jovial Monk wrote:But Adelaide does everything better!

Never overestimate the WA police department.

Adelaide sure does have more murders and very weird ones at that. It's such a pretty place, but it's like one of those little outback Americans towns where madness rears its ugly head when the wind blows in the wrong direction. It's probably the uranium dust being redistributed from the depleted mines.

Was going to say that if your getting the rain coming this way Monk you could be dissapointed, you usually get what has already been this way? ..Much ado about nothing so far..sorry. So far...
Adelaide has more murders...? Im not sure about that..Sydney has its weird ones too. Maybe because its smaller .
Now talk about Snowtown and you have my full attention..

Yes Sydney does have a lot of murders, but they're usually gang related or just thugs stabbing or shooting someone for the fun of it. Actually Australia as a whole has a lot of murders. If I lived overseas and my daughter was coming to Australia to backpack - I would be seriously scared for her safety. A lot of foreign visitors come here and disappear into our vast wilderness. Some of those who live in the isolated outback - in Central Australia and inland generally - seem a bit eerie and young people are too trusting.

A lot of murders in the land down under mmmm, could it be our convict past, ancestral links/tainted bloodlines etc..mantra wrote:Yes Sydney does have a lot of murders, but they're usually gang related or just thugs stabbing or shooting someone for the fun of it. No convict settlement in SA, all free settlers.
Demi did really well in the lesson tonight--I even had her staying a few metres away from me without the lead being tied to anything for 10 minutes or so while I acted as one 'post' in the figure of eight (2 people standing 2-3 metres apart that dog and handler move between and around in a 8 shaped path. This is good as a 2minute down stay is one of the exercises at trials which if the dog fails mean it doesn't pass the trial.
The figure of eight is a part of the trial: the dog and handler are constantly changing direction when moving around the poles so the dog has to look at the handler continuously to see where to go and what to do and that isn't easy. I saw one handler at the Mt Gambier trials DRAG her dog around the figure of eight, doubt she passed, not really ready for trialling. Demi handles this exercise like a champ, looking at me and the lead is nice and loose making a loop as we weave around.
