Physics will not be denied.
and apples will not be oranges.
Its not about personas, in this case being Mel's, it's about who and what info disseminated by whoever people put their faith/belief in.
Yet I did not make a statement about mel's persona. I did mention the posts though didn't I... in fact my comment was about who and what info was disseminated.

When you send proof to anyone that man-made CO2 emissions are causing dangerous warming Yogi, you'll make the front page around the world mate. Because no one has done it yet.

What? You mean to say that CO2 emissions aren't behind the acidification of the ocean? I have seen my local coral reef and it ain't looking so good ...

The definitive answer from climate scientists is...
"We have no fucking clue"

http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/04/ ... AJ20130416" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
(Reuters) - Scientists are struggling to explain a slowdown in climate change that has exposed gaps in their understanding and defies a rise in global greenhouse gas emissions.

Often focused on century-long trends, most climate models failed to predict that the temperature rise would slow, starting around 2000. Scientists are now intent on figuring out the causes and determining whether the respite will be brief or a more lasting phenomenon.

Getting this right is essential for the short and long-term planning of governments and businesses ranging from energy to construction, from agriculture to insurance. Many scientists say they expect a revival of warming in coming years.

"The climate system is not quite so simple as people thought," said Bjorn Lomborg, a Danish statistician and author of "The Skeptical Environmentalist" who estimates that moderate warming will be beneficial for crop growth and human health.

Some experts say their trust in climate science has declined because of the many uncertainties. The UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) had to correct a 2007 report that exaggerated the pace of melt of the Himalayan glaciers and wrongly said they could all vanish by 2035.

"My own confidence in the data has gone down in the past five years," said Richard Tol, an expert in climate change and professor of economics at the University of Sussex in England.

"Many scientists say they expect a revival of warming in coming years."

I'm in this camp.

It is clear the climate models are missing something.... the need to get on with the analysis, brainstorming...etc and find a model that is improved is just bloody required, as the article indicates. Science is progress not perfection.

I think the argument against taxes and government policies based on a flawed model have some merit... (now I understand the issue better)

We need the blueprints of this planet to do the model correctly but the bastard didn't leave them behind. I blame the mice.

That's because you have been sold a dummy and refuse to believe that your dummy isn't worth anything.

Quite understandable from a human nature perspective to refuse the scientific data.
I think some refer to it as denial...

Sure, some parts of the world and the people that live there will benefit from climate change but others won't and I haven't seen anything that indicates the oceans will benefit.

By "scientific data" you mean recently collected observation data that does not correlate with the model predictions. All that means is the theory if not what right or has not been possible to model in the right way. I expect both.

Just because the modelling is not quite perfect in short term predictions does not mean the macro effects of the theory are wrong. Newtons theory, still used for most engineering and space calculations provides a good enough approximation of the physical world but we all know it's wrong when it comes to the very small, the very massive and at speeds close to light speed. A pretty good model. We refine and replace when we find this is the case. I think this is the case for climate science modelling.

Denial..... no......

Stuck-On-Stupid: Majority of Mainstream Journalists Too Stupid To Recognize Failure of CAGW Climate Science
For decades, the mainstream journalists have dutifully reported hysterical alarmism generated by a minority of scientists dedicated to the concept of human CO2-caused catastrophic anthropogenic global warming (CAGW)...this style of sensationalist, tabloid "climate science" journalism however is dependent on either a condition of stuck-on-stupid mentality or a highly biased, politically motivated political agenda, not on scientific empirical evidence.

Image

Above is a chart that depicts the output of climate alarmism of catastrophic global warming scientists, versus scientific reality. Per this empirical evidence, the experts and their wildly expensive, souped-up CAGW spreadsheet models obviously can't predict squat.

Despite this well documented, spectacular and long known failure of the "consensus," "expert" climate models, the stuck-on-stupid tabloid press is just now coming to grips with their own spectacular stupidity (gullibility?).

It would benefit all Americans, and the rest of the world's populace, if everyone just simply ignored the mainstream press in regards to any type of science reporting - if that were to happen, incredibly wasteful dumb policies would not be implemented by an even stupider class of individuals - the politicians.

Additional stuck-on-stupid-journalism and climate-model postings. Climate-model and modern-temperature charts.

See the pattern SN?

Do you see where we sit with that last natural spike?
Do you see why the warmists have been chanting "we must act now and introduce global taxes all we'll all be rooned"?

It's called their "window of opportunity" and it is well and truly closed

Andrew Bolt nailed Turnbulls treachery back in 2011 when he said....

See, little by little, Malcolm in the middle serves to erode the legitimacy and virtue of the Liberal party.

Time he retired to Labors front bench I think... because it's clear, that's where his heart is.
