Nick D'Arcy
Is considering a legal challenge to his banning :

What possible grounds could he think he has? or do you subscribe to the theory that he's been punished enough?

Some facts, the other bloke slapped Darcy first, Darcy hit him back, sure it was a bit harder than a slap but anyone my age or older will understand if someone hits you, you belt them back as hard as you can, its called self defence.

Re: Nick D'Arcy
http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/ ... 41,00.htmlI thought D'Arcy had learnt the harshest of lessons and had done his time, but that was until January.
What possessed him to say to a bouncer at a Bondi pub in Sydney, as he was being escorted out of a 21st birthday party: ``All it takes is one hit.''
It was a reckless statement that was enough to convince me his rehabilitation was far from complete and he hadn't learnt his lesson.
His general body language in an interview last week on the ABC was also unconvincing and insincere.
It lacked genuine remorse and empathy for his victim. While he was saying sorry to Cowley, I just couldn't believe him.
This is probably the end for Nick D'Arcy's international career, but can we just keep this in perspective.
He's extremely fortunate that a person isn't dead as a result of his aggressive outburst. If you think I'm being overly dramatic, have a chat to David Hookes' family.
I hear what you're saying Skip, but I don't want someone like D'Arcy representing my country. And if he is studying medicine, as some reports say he is, I wouldn't want him as my doctor either. I reckon he's lucky not to have been kicked out of his course.

Re: Nick D'Arcy
If it was only this one incident - you could perhaps forgive him - but this is the second time it has happened. The first time it was covered up and D'Arcy's wealthy father paid for medical treatment, plastic surgery and some form of hush money to keep the bloke quiet, but he was very seriously damaged.
Yes - a slap would be infuriating, but D'Arcy has a serious anger issue as well as a drinking problem. Wealth and influence can pay a lot of people to keep their mouth shut.

Re: Nick D'Arcy
Only one person ever slapped me across the face and that was my son when he was 3 years old - just out of the blue and hard. He had never been smacked & must have seen it on TV. I was so shocked reflexively I slapped him back, but not hard enough to break his face. He never did it again.skippy wrote:Yes but If some one hits you or slaps you would you belt them back?Jovial Monk wrote:He is supposed to be a sportsman.

But yes - it is a reflex action I suppose.

They get paid millions. They should be able to keep their temper. They ARE supposed to be sportmen! But it is all take take take and give NOTHING back!
Re: Nick D'Arcy
Thats right and if he cant keep his temper he shouldnt be representing Australia..or anyone else. Drugs alcohol and violence in sport are the big ones.It seems violence too large part is accepted because Barry Hall has never been made to seriously atone for his striking of Brent Staker, punching him and knocking him out on the football field, whereas Ben Cousins took a few drugs and has been put thru hell.Jovial Monk wrote:They get paid millions.
