Wouldn't it be fantastic if say you called someone an ugly name then after having been criticised by the media, public, and even some of your colleagues for having used such an excessive harsh word, you could just simply call your comrades at the Ministry of Truth (Macquarie dictionary editors) and have them change, erase or perhaps even add a secondary meaning to the word you used , to somewhat 'soften' the ugliness of both the word itself and your own speech to make you appear less extreme and nasty for having used such a word to degrade another to begin with.
Here we have evidence of Gillard and Bill Shorten doing just that.
Bastardising our national dictionary to excuse themselves.
Think 'News Speak' from Orwell's 1984 .
The planned redefinition also comes after Workplace Relations Minister Bill Shorten this week said misogyny now could mean someone who had a prejudice about the type of jobs women should do.
“I don’t think Tony Abbott hates women,” he also told ABC’s Q&A.
The widening will bring Macquarie closer to definitions from Oxford and dictionary.com while re-energising Ms Gillard’s backers.

I wonder how many other words have been 'politically corrected' or removed all together from our national dictionary?
