JULIA Gillard is heading for a bruising defeat on media policy after stepping in to rescue Labor's controversial reforms but failing to win over the key independents.

In a blow to the Prime Minister's authority, she could not secure the support she needed to ram the changes through parliament this week as independents turned their backs on the policy or issued demands that appeared impossible to meet.

I knew it.

What a waste of time that was.

Cu.nts like Jonathan Marshall and Today Tonight, for example. They conspired to put words into a father's mouth on national TV, simply for the crime of having a son who is a bit of a dick online.

The voice heard in the Today Tonight ... saying “an attention whore who deserved what she got for playing the victim” is most definitely not me, Michael Barker, it is actually Jonathan Marshall.

Jonathan Marshall secretly videos the parents, and when straight out asked if he was recording the conversation, he lies. And when the parents fail to say anything radical enough for him, his editors at TT do a hatchet job, and make it appear like the father was talking, while in fact it was the interviewer talking. The quote is so heavily cut and the video conveniently fails to show the faces that all context (by which the viewer could tell it who was speaking) is lost.

And this isn't an isolated incident, just have a trawl through the media-watch archives.
