No, I'm well on the side of "idiot got thrown to the ground because he was being a cock".

Now go spout your left vs. right wedge politics to someone else.

Totally gay... must have been asking for it, eh, Melbart

Numpty, what has that got to do with anything? Unless you think gays deserve bashing, for being in your face gay?

Good looking kid. Pulls that stupid "s'up?" look in a few of the pics I've seen. Shows off the big-assed scar on his chin.
mellie wrote:Some argue that the police involved in the arrest during the Sydney Mardi Gras displayed a level of naivety by telling members of the public to stop filming the incident, a senior police officer has said.

And to the alleged senior police officer I say [...] what if your fellow officer made such a request based on his belief that the incident being recorded was exacerbating the offenders response to being arrested, and was in fact making their job more difficult?

Just because the officer told the public to stop filming, isn't to say he would arrest them if they didn't.

I'm inclined to think he made such a request because he knew the offender was playing up to the camera.
Wow. Excellent point [again]. That never occurred to me.

He [same cop?] made numerous calls for filming to cease. But he was calm the whole time and that's as far as he took it. No lunging at the camera. No threats of more arrests. He ignored the taunt-like replies from the crowd and calmly repeated his request and that's all.

My 5c worth from the two vids I've seen. I'm NOT gonna go searching for even more views:

** He was successfully restrained on the ground.
** He got back up. He got back up in a reasonably civilised manner given the circumstances. No outrageous kicking and flailing.
** There is no way he should have got back up to his feet if the cops wanted him to stay down. How did they let it happen? Were they having a daydream?
** But this mostly:
Aussie wrote:But I saw nothing which justified a handcuffed person being body slammed to the pavement.
That body slam was farking baaad. Hands cuffed behind his back, face first into the road as far as I could tell. That made me cringe.

I'll finish with a quote from the boy's grandfather. I went back a few pages to check it hadn't been mentioned before:
Mr Reed said his grandson had, on previous occasions, been "cheeky to police".

"I'm not talking as a grandfather now but there's always two sides to a story," he said.

"You only see the part where he's being roughed up by police and you don't know what he's been saying to them.

"We don't know the full story. We'll find out later on."

Greens voter, left wing numpty taking a leaf out of Bob Browns new love child, the Sea shephards.

Be a smartarse, put yourself and others in danger, have a camera then run about crying, flailing your limp wrists crying "bully" "brutality" "Poor me" "Picked on" "Hate media"

Look Boxy, all I'm asking is that we wait for the completion of inquiries before shooting off our mouths.

Recall the Indian nurse incident, and how some of you were yet again quick to blame the Aussie DJ's for her death, when later (after a social-media hate campaign) it was revealed that she was quite unstable and had in fact attempted suicide at least twice before having transferred a call to a colleague.

Try not to make the same mistake again boxy and Aussie, because I'm tired of scraping egg of your faces.

Ps- I posted the photo of the boy dressed as a black angel to demonstrate how he might have enjoyed playing up to the camera when the police were attempting to take him into custody.

I think his grandfather is trying to tell you something... and like he says, there's always two sides to a story.
So far, the only side you have heard is Jamie Jacksons, a boy who has a history for disrespecting police according to his grandfather.

Gay or not, this kid has a reputation for being cheeky and disrespectful towards police.
Note how a leftard media failed to ask the boy if he had been in strife with police prior to this incident?

:roll

Meanwhile, gay rights activists are busily organising a curb-side vigil/protest via social neworking sites.
See, got to strike while the irons hot I guess, not wanting the outcome of a formal inquiry ( a few facts) to get in the way of a good moan/story.

Christ how Australia has changed (for the best).

In my day if you dressed like that you would expect to be beaten up and the police would probably be the one's doing it.
Always remember what you post, send or do on the internet is not private and you are responsible.

This isn't a story about gay rights or tolerance, it's a story about a boy with a history (according to the boys grandfather) for disrespecting police and resisting arrest.

I think some members of the gay community and the rabid socialist left have jumped the gun again.

To date, we have seen absolutely no evidence suggesting police brutality was a factor in this incident.

NSW Police Assistant Commissioner Mark Murdoch really needs to weigh up the facts before publicly condemning members of his police force for merely doing their job.
His comments regarding the officers unfamiliarity with the city with respects to the officer being from a Western Sydney beat are arrogant, discriminatory and presumptuous at best. :roll
I believe Mark Murdoch is in fact stoking the fire and encouraging members of the gay community and public to arrive at conclusions they may otherwise not have had he been more professional and just maintained that we should wait until the completion of inquiries before further comment.

At the scene, a girl was overheard in one of the clips exclaiming that there would be an internal 'inquest' and that nothing would happen to police with respects to this incident involving the boy. Mind you, she said this as the incident was taking place, not after as you might expect upon reflection.

Another, this time a young male who claimed he was "media" who when asked to stop filming appeared to be goading the police on to explain why he shouldn't be filming the incident.

Then there's the other arrest ... involving a social worker gay rights activist.

Some of these responses seem a little rehearsed to me, as though they were staged.

Is it possible?

Then there's Jamie Jacksons forced theatrical cry when he knew the camera was being pointed in his direction.

8-) ..... I think this may have been a staged public demonstration.
