No, all I saw in this this thread was Aussie claiming that the parents of young molested and murdered child were 'cashing in' after 9 years because that happened to be the time frame for bringing his raping murderers to justice.

However, I have found nothing on the internet that makes reference to this. They raised funds to help fund the kid. I doubt any audit would allow them to klive off it. They formed the "Daniel Morcombe Foundation" and I expect it would have charity status. No they could not be using this.

Aussie, most of my family lives on the Sunshine Coast, and I assure you, the ill-feeling and contempt you have for this family is yours, and yours only...with the exception of perhaps Denis Ferguson, but he's dead now, so... it's yours, and yours alone, I'm afraid by the looks of it.

My father and grandfather (Who are both quite active within their community, rotary, on the RSL board etc) thinks that this family started out trying to do something meaningful, constructive to stop them feeling so helpless over the disappearance of their son.

Basically, their heavy involvement with local charities and child-safe awareness campaigns was what helped keep them sane due to the nature of their sons disappearance, and how for so many years they had no idea what had happened to him.


What they really needed was closure, but this kept them going, kept them sane while awaiting justice.

Re- the Indian family re the nurse suicide...how ironic that you defended them Boxy and Aussie, (despite the extenuating circumstances which have now come to light, re- her being suicidal well before the hoax call).

This is an entirely different situation, for starters, unlike the nurses Indian family Daniel Morcombes parents weren't blackmailing the media and hospital officials and blaming those they knew they could extort money out of for her death.

Furthermore, the Indian family lied when they insisted their Jacintha was a well adjusted happy wife and mother of 2 children before the hoax call, insisting that the hoax call and senior hospital staff were entirely responsible for her untimely death.

The truth is, she had been suicidal for years, this and had made at least two serious attempts to take her life in the 12 months leading up to her death prior to the hoax call.

The family didn't wish to mention this because they knew they would stand a greater chance of being paid-off if the public remained outraged with the radio DJ's and the hospital where she worked.

This nurse didn't even live with her husband and kids, in the 4 years leading up to her suicide..... so they weren't quite the 'close family' they would have you believe, though were the first on the scene with their hands out wanting compensation after she died.
