Gillard didn't go far enough with the glasses...everyone can still recognise her.
She should have tried a burqa

Who knows? Gillard is 52. She dyes her hair, so perhaps the specs are for effect? Nobody is going to vote for her because her eyes are stuffed. Happens to everyone, eventually.

Gillard has been wearing contact lenses for eons, apparently. Now that she is in her 50's, perhaps she feels that glasses really do give her a look of "authority" or something. Those dark/heavy frames have been the "trend" for a while now ... all the movie stars and other celebs are wearing them, according to various pictures around. Spectacle frames follow fashion, same with sunnies. What's "in" this year will be old fashioned next year. :mrgreen:

PS My latest reading glasses are frameless ... I had the dark frames 18 months or so back. ;)

Hillary was sick in the hospital over the holidays, I think it was a blood clot in her head. The glasses are from side effects to her vision because of that. She is recovering now and it out of danger.

Personally, I think it's all a little bit creepy, I mean, Rudds said to be missing in action, is believed to be "unwell".......and noone has sighted him for weeks, (other than read his tweets of course) .... then suddenly Gillard springs an election upon us out of the blue wearing his glasses?

Someone should probably call the police.
