I'm arguing that the warming is manmade. I didn't propose a position on the carbon tax ...etc and the pathetic attempt humanity is making to redress.

China, US, India ...etc will never come on board until it is too late. While we continue to value growth and consumption ahead of our long term survival there will be a point were we will have to adapt or die out a little.

The issue is real. We can choose to refuse to achknowledge it exists and deal with it or just fuck the planet up and have a big die back. I think that is when we will consider the environment for the next era of humanity after the great warming disaster ofthe 22nd century. We will go a few hundred years of a lot fewer people, less emissions and then rebuild from the ground up with a greater focus on living with boundaries rather consume everything and shit in our own nest like rats.

So many short term cooling periods there... none of which brought the temperature down to previous levels. The current decade is the hottest on record. That is not a period of cooling at all, unless you look at it in isolation from the rest of history.

Sometime this century perhaps would be good.

You could then explain how a cooling trend can be part of a warming trend. Or how come people even alarmists admit that the temperature climb has stopped.

While the continental USA has a mild winter and has set a number of
high temperature records in the last week and pundits ponder whether
they will be blaming the dreaded “global warming” for those
temperatures, Alaska and Canada have been suffering through some of
the coldest temperatures on record during the last week.
