There is clearly a set of events that caused that. There is plently of theories for it. Go do some research.

Some are:
- The Earths orbit changes slighty over time, closer and further away from the sun. Volcanes blanketing the sun out. The earth tilt changes. The sun changes it level of radiation. Changes in how the wind currents flow. Living in the goldielocks zone means any little change has a big effect considering how everything needs to be in balance for it to be nice like it is now.

A small change in average temperage is a huge amount of energy change.

Smog was the combination of the polution pumped out by industry and fire burning in homes with fog. It got so bad the banned burning fires in London, the clean air act. There is no smog now. Nothing to do with CO2 emissions beyond burning emmits CO2.

My point SN is that climate and the earth's in particular is very complicated and reliant on more than just CO2 levels. Which BTW Arsie is a colourless, odourless, gas.

Why do we have cycles of Ice Ages SN?
Cycles of warming and Cooling and why have these been so far independent of man made CO2?
Give that you agree so far isn't it possible that these events are happening beyond the control of man?
Is it not also possible that there are other reasons for the current warming which halted 16 years ago even though the CO2 levels continue to rise?

It is CO2 and a whole bunch of ash particles. The combination of these particles with the vapour of the fog creates SMOG.

It's not the CO2 that's the problem for Smog, it's the shit in the air from the burning. When it is a still day, combined with the fog, it creates a hazardous combination.

Pure CO2 would not effect fog to make smog.
