Allowing unregulated medication onto the market that increases the propensity for violence in the unstable would be the catalyst not the weapon itself.

If you ban all guns and the nutcases on SSRIs decide to drive GMC 4WDs through the playground do you think that regulating GMC 4WDs will solve the problem?

Sure, if that started happening, there would be no problem getting legislation restricting their licences to drive, either by limiting the size of the vehicle (think they'd be driving B-doubles?) or anyone allowing them access to such vehicles, or banning them from driving altogether.

The left aren't talking about profiling or restricting individual users, they are wanting restrictions on classifications of guns.

This debate is the equivalent of banning certain vehicles because a few nutcases have used them for mass murder

Why shouldn't ordinary citizens be restricted in the type of guns they can have?

You mean like how the different classes of explosives have differing restrictions on them, right up to outright bans for civilian use, for just those reasons?
