I could have picked 2010 and 2012, same result.... cooling trend.

Since climate is long term-"weather" it takes many years to work out if climate is changing. In the 1970's the alarmists of today thought we were heading for an ice age and that global cooling was occurring. Then there was global dimming. Then warming. Then oh the heck with it, let's just call it climate change.

1850-1860 - cooling
1850-1910 - cooling
1880-1910 - cooling
1940-1950 - cooling
1940-1970 - cooling

Yes, there are obvious cooling periods at regular intervals. It doesn't change the obvious long term warming trend.

Compare before 1940 and after 1990... you get the picture yet? Can you find any points along that graph to manufacture a cooling trend from?



Of course not, the long term trend is obviously warming. It's a basic and clear cut point of fact that sane people shouldn't have to debate.

You choose to tell other people they are guilty of what you are doing.

Go back further, there will be other warming and cooling trends.
Go further forward and we don't know what we will see, but since 1998 you'd have to say the trend is cooling.
It may accelerate, then you and your fellow alarmists will be shouting ICEAGE yet again.
Or it may continue in warming and cooling cycles.
It may also start warming again, and the trend will change.

I don't need to call people names or get hysterical about it.
Believe it or not it is beyond my control.
No tax will change the climate or the weather.

Eventually there will be another Iceage and they come quickly and one is overdue now. When it comes, I just hope we can adapt quickly enough to save ourselves.

No, IQ, comparing two years and saying one is cooler than the other is not the same as saying "no warming". The trend is still upwards, with the one year outside the error bars. Unsurprisingly you pick this one year to base your whole misdirection upon.

All of the hottest 9 years, in recorded history, come from that same 16 years.

Slap on the sun block, open a stubbie, and lie back and enjoy the show.

I didn't compare any two years. I simply stated what the statistical trend has been over the last 16 years and what the scientists are saying they expect over the next 4.

There has been no statisical significant warming trend over that period.
Suck it up.

As you can see, there are regular short term ups and down... it doesn't take away from the long term trend upwards, or the fact that the 9 hottest years on record have all happened in the last 16.
