And Monk, you know as well as I do, this Royal enquiry into institutional abuse is destined to smear but one of the many Christian denominations, well, until the election anyway, when shortly after it will be placed on the back-burner and forgotten about until 2015, much like all the other Gillard promises/productions which are yet to reach fruition.

8-)

When Tony Abbott says something, you can at least take some of it to the bank.

Can the same be said for Gillard?

Read the following article, and by one of Labors backbenchers own admission, it's to his belief that the Catholic church is where the major problems are, this and should be the focus of any commission enquiry.

Opposition Leader Tony Abbott said earlier today he'd support a “wide-ranging” commission that didn't focus solely on the Catholic Church.

“Any investigation should not be limited to the examination of any one institution,” Mr Abbott, a high-profile Catholic, said in a statement.

“It must include all organisations, government and non-government, where there is evidence of sexual abuse.”

Cardinal Pell had said he believed his church was being unfairly targeted due to “anti-Catholic prejudice”.

But Labor backbencher Doug Cameron said earlier today the church should be the focus of any commission because “that's where the major problem seems to be”.

Like I said, this is more about pre-electoral victim suck-holing and Coalition leader faith smearing than anything else.

:roll

Lol, you call this progressive? Back to The Protestant Reformation of the early 16th century we go.

You are not a fool IQ so what is driving you? Are you a conservative Catholic?
Conservative, yes. Catholic? No.
Completely Religion free here my friend

Let's just say I am anti leftwing agendas. They get it wrong more often than they get it right- plus I think marriage should remain between a man and a woman

All I can say is watch the aforementioned film to see for yourself how the Catholic Church and its allies manufactures dissent against same-sex marriage. It is all about the money.

I would if there was any link/film/information in your post
All I see is a blue "?" indicating a broken link

I'm quite open to watching propaganda from both sides on this issue because it's not high on my list of anti-Leftardism dissent but I still don't see a need to change thousands of years of historical precedent simply to oil a minority squeaky wheel.

The reason squeaky wheels need oil is usually because they are faulty and destined to eventually fail...usually catestrophically

While the film focuses largely on the Mormon connection it makes clear that the Catholic Church is its ally in this.

AIA is a typical Aussie, who just happens to live in Atlanta, USA (Aussie In Atlanta = AiA, originally). A Stirrer. Aren't you AiA? *

* A reason why calling AiA "Atlanta" by some people annoys me.

I thought I already created a thread in general/off-topic for conspiracy theories... :roll

The purpose of my doing so was to stop conspiranut fodder like this bleeding into the more credible political threads.

:roll

*damn* I really hoped it would work.

Another wakeup call for the progressives....

If a Labor government were so thoughtful of the underprivileged, then why are homeless stats up?

Perhaps they couldn't afford their power bills?

Just a thought.

12 November 2012
Media Release

Embargo: 11:30 am (Canberra Time)
177/2012
105,000 people homeless on Census night 2011

The rate of homelessness in Australia was 49 persons for every 10,000 persons enumerated in the 2011 Census, up 8% from 45 persons in 2006, according to estimates of the prevalence of homelessness released today by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).

Today's release found that there were 105,237 people who were homeless on 9 August 2011, or 0.5% of the Australian population. Although the homeless rate rose by 8% in the five years to 2011, the number of people who were homeless rose 17% in those five years which also reflects the increase in the population over that time.

Yes,

Why wouldn't it be Nef?

Apart from a Labor government being terminal wreckers as always.
