Getting a little hot at home I see

Post by Super Nova » Tue Jan 08, 2013 8:43 pm

Talking to the rellies and reading the news (it's even on the BBC) it appears things are getting a little hot back home. The weather foecasters have had to introduce new colours to deal with it.

How are you guys coping?

The Bureau of Meteorology's interactive weather forecasting chart has added new colours – deep purple and pink – to extend its previous temperature range that had been capped at 50 degrees.

It has sat on 43 degrees for most of the day. It is stinking hot even now. Fans are useless and today is the first time I've ever thought about getting an airconditioner. There is no sea breeze or southerly to break the humidity. The birds have sat in the trees panting all day and many of them would have dropped dead. I would think that a few people died today also.

Yes I had to give some birds a drink over at Richmond today. Poor buggers.

Good thing the ALP have made it too expensive for people to run air conditioners. Should add nicely to the 'death by leftard' toll

My electricity bill has only increased a few dollars a quarter. The electricity providers have been offering excellent discounts for 2 year contracts which almost cancels the increase out.

That's a good gesture. Did you notice that the cold water was running hot in the taps today?

Well they were desperate for water and panting like there was no tomorrow, so I went to the loo in the park, filled a drink bottle with cold water (came back) and found a spot under the trees that would hold the water so it wouldn't be soaked up... and voila, instant bird bath.

I'm impressed.

If you don't believe in global warming - then you wouldn't find airconditioners necessary for hot days. People have survived without them for thousands of years - even the elderly.

I think we've all gone soft mantra.
When I was a kid we had summers with weeks of 36-42 degrees and we didn't even have fans in the classrooms.

I can't believe the crap in the media today, they must be young or have bad memories.

Gillard tried it on in Tas re Climate change someone should explain to her what climate is and what weather is.
