It's not about gender, it's about unfair discrimination based on gender or race. A regime where qualification, experience and ability is superceded or trumped by perverted perceptions that a person of one particular gender or race is underprivileged and so should be promoted on the grounds of that underprivileged status alone.Sexy Lady wrote:I do not think that gender of a teacher affects ability to learn. It's a politically correct social engineering project called 'affirmative action'.
A regime where promotion is based on gender or race rather than merit or ability.

If Donald Trump is so close to the Ruskis, why couldn't he get Vladimir Putin to put novichok in Xi Jjinping's lipstick?

Speaking of which, what do you think is better ...single or same sex schools?
I'm looking towards enrolling my daughter into a same sex school for a number of reasons.
Particularly secondary education.

We did some research on this for our daugther.mellie wrote:Speaking of which, what do you think is better ...single or same sex schools?

The conclusion was. Boys do better in a uni-sex school.
Girls do better in a same sex school.
However we have enroled our daugther in the french system here which is uni-sex because they teach with old school disipline and have better outcomes in both here in the UK. If we didn''t go down this path, we had her enrolled in a girls school.

Your daughter is a BABY. Hadn't you better get her to her first birthday before worrying about stuff like schools? Gosh, Mellie.mellie wrote:Speaking of which, what do you think is better ...single or same sex schools?

My understanding, unless you just want to put you kid in the local government school is that you have to apply for a place in aschool as soon as they are born.Neferti~ wrote:Your daughter is a BABY. We had to pay a deposit in 2 potential schools in Melbourne when I thought I may be coming back before she was one year old. 4-5 years in advance to hold a place.
Same in the UK.
So I think you need to be planning their education as soon as they are born. Times have changed.

Nef, Supernover is correct, the schools I have in mind require that she be enrolled as soon as possible, well before her first birthday.
And likewise my research brought me to the same conclusion, of which is that boys do better in co-ed, girls however in same-sex schools.
And given the limited spaces in single-sex schools, we need to decide ASAP.

Right, and who is going to afford the Annual "contribution" for an Exclusive Private Girls School? Poor old Bart? Your parents? You?mellie wrote:Nef, Supernover is correct, the schools I have in mind require that she be enrolled as soon as possible, well before her first birthday.

It is all very well to have grandiose ideas but where is the wherewithall coming from?
Do you have her enrolled in a North Shore Private Pre-school? That would be the first step in my opinion. Presuming you live on the North Shore and not Blacktown.

Sorry Mel, but you sound so false. It isn't as though this is your first baby either. Geeze.

I'm looking towards enrolling her in a same-sex secondary school, (I'm not worried about primary school) and for what it's worth, there are a number of 'government' same-sex schools which have limited vacancies unless you enrol early. This is something I need to look into, though I have been told to enquire ASAP if we live out of area.
Furthermore, you don't have to be wealthy or live on the north shore to send your child to a same-sex high school.
I went to one, and the fees are quite reasonable.
But again, it's important to enrol early.
For example...

The truth is Nef, I have no idea where I need to enrol her yet, I'm just exploring options at this stage.
And I have no idea why you would react so rudely to my post, this or assume I was incapable of paying her school fees myself.
Odd! Having a bad day?
If so, take it out on someone else.
I have a supportive family who are financially secure, so in the unlikely event I should suddenly become broke or decease, and require their assistance, they would insist on the very best for her.
:
Tara is another affordable option.

As is usual mellie....your links do not support your proposition about having to enrol your infant NOW. You really do sound fake, like Naffy said.
How's Bart?

Mel, be proud of your new little daughter but got dog's sake stop thinking years ahead. Just get her through her infancy and then take it as it comes.mellie wrote:I'm looking towards enrolling her in a same-sex secondary school, (I'm not worried about primary school) and for what it's worth, there are a number of 'government' same-sex schools which have limited vacancies unless you enrol early. Yesterday, you were worried about Formula, today you are afraid she won't get into a Private School. The child is, what? Not even 6 months old yet. R-E-L-A-X.
