Newspoll has become erratic. Nielsen, which has a bias of a per cent or two to the Libs (a bias in their sampling algorithm, not talking of personal political bias) has Labor on PV of 35% (up 1) and PPV of 48:52 which could mean 49:51 or even 50:50.

But at this stage the only statistic that is important: over 60% of voters disapprove of Abbott.

Average primary for the ALP must be sitting around 34% and not moving except within the MoE.

That will be the best you can hope for.

Actually, his disapproval recovered from the low of 74%. With Ashbygate to hit, with a complete lack of policies, with only sleaze and irrelevant stunts—Tone’s disapproval will only go higher.

Libs will lose the next election, whether they ditch Tone next year or not. To have a hope of victory they should have booted Tone last month. They didn’t, fixated by an ephemeral marginal lead and that sealed their fate.

Have you had a look at your Leader lately? Not well, is he? He seems to be getting botox shots, spray on tan, is balding rapidly and doing the combover thing to hide his growing baldness.

Now, it may be just me, but that does not look like a picture of a winner to me. He has aged 20 years in the two and a bit years he has been in the job.

Gillard won the 2010 election and will win in 2013, this time with a clear majority.
