Romney says, "I won't represent just one party, I'll represent one nation."

Romney says, "I ask the American people to vote for love of country."
But what he really means is, "I ask the American people to vote for even fewer jobs, for the loss of hard-won women's rights over the decades, for the repeal of Obamacare so that insurance companies can once again turn away the sick and the poor and those with pre-existing conditions, and for cuts to Social Security for seniors, and last but not least for a voucher system to replace Medicare for seniors, and in general for the loss of the American dream for all time."
Romney says, "Words are cheap. You can say whatever you want to say in a campaign, but what you can achieve - results - those are earned. Those can't be faked."
But what he really means is, "Words are cheap. You can fake whatever you want to say in a campaign, and what you can achieve - results - are the fear and paranoia of an uneducated and unwary public who dislikes the incumbent so much they are willing to take a chance on somebody new. Those are outright lies, of course, but if you're clever enough to make 'em sound real, you'll get the votes on election day."

Yeah, I DO know what he really means. You just want to contradict a yank for the fun of it. You think that's funny and entertaining on the forum.Neferti~ wrote: You have no idea what he means, really means or otherwise.
Words ARE cheap. My Father always said "Actions, not words" and he was right. What is it with you Lefties? Don't worry, you will know soon enough who will be the next POTUS.
Do you think 50% of the eligible population will turn out to vote?
In fact, you have no idea what actually goes on up here in the USA, Nef. I can tell from some of your other posts that you haven't got a clue.
I think maybe 75% of the eligible pop will turn out to vote, but remember that it is really the number of electoral votes per each state that will actually declare a winner for pres.
For instance, we already know Obama will win California. My own individual vote would make no difference to the outcome here.

By "anyone" you probably mean someone from the US, however. Jill Stein is a Greenie.Rorschach wrote:Can anyone fill me in on Jill Stein?

Re: Iowa Hiho!
The Pommie betting complany thinks it will be Obama and has paid out already. Great marketting gimic as it is widely reported.
U.K. bookie declares Obama victorious
Pollsters and pundits in the United States may be hedging their bets, but a bookie in Britain is paying out even before the presidential race is over. Paddy Power, Europe's largest book-maker and one of the big "bet shop" chains in Britain (where they'll bet on anything) has decided that President Obama has already won reelection, and is handing over cash to those who placed bets on him.
With 75 percent of those laying a bet on the race in the past month backing the incumbent, the odds and the payout weren't terribly attractive anyway. The book-making firm may just be cutting its losses. Still, its pre-election payout bill will come to well over half-a-million dollars.

Too bad candidates from other parties have no chance to win elections here in the US. It's always going to be either the Republican or the Democrat who becomes next pres.

Why is that Annie, hardly seems very fair or democratic.
