The poor old Greens are dead meat! Look at the result:
2012
ALP 8
Liberals 8 (there is NOT a Coalition in the ACT)
Greens 1
LAST Election?
2008
ALP 7
Liberals 6
Greens 4
Who lost what?
Greens lost 3 seats:
1 to the ALP and 2 to the Liberals!
Who actually "won"? Nobody knows but we do know who LOST. The ACT public.
Also the result of the ACT has absolutely nothing to do with the Federals. NOTHING! Look at the other States to see how Gizzard and her lot will be decimated next year.

Re: ACT Election
It is now official.
Today (31 October 2012) the ACT Electoral Commissioner, Phil Green, announced the results of the 2012 ACT election.
The first sitting of the Eighth Assembly will be held on Tuesday, 6 November 2012 at which time members will be sworn in by the Acting Chief Justice of the ACT, Richard Refshauge. The Speaker of the Legislative Assembly and the Chief Minister will also be elected by MLAs at this sitting.

We still don't know "officially" who will form the ACT Government though.

Re: ACT Election
SBS... when oh when will you reference a non-biased website one wonders Arsie?
LABOR will form a minority government in the ACT with the support of Greens MLA Shane Rattenbury.
Something Nef and I have stated previously... several times, how many more times would you like it repeated?
Or did you skip over that like you do most informed posts here.
What's that Arsie... we didn't?
Here is just one example for you then.
Well no it didn't SBS. No it didn't ArsieLabor wins ACT election

A fait accompli, I reckon.Rattenbury is saying he will "take his time to negotiate" .... yeah yeah we all believe that. That is exactly what the Greens did last Election ... they took 2 weeks to "decide" to choose Labor. What a bloody joke.

Well, sounds like he's got himself a cabinet position, so I guess the negotiations were worth something?

Re: ACT Election
A minority government is still better than being in opposition. Considering the negativity surrounding Gillard and the Greens for the last couple of years - it's a very good result for Labor.Rorschach wrote: LABOR will form a minority government in the ACT with the support of Greens MLA Shane Rattenbury.

But not for the people of Canbluuurrgah...
Nef will be able to give us a running commentary as her power bills skyrocket with Labor caving into a 90% renewables for power target.
Just more evidence that the Greens are economic loons and Labor will fuck the regular people over for power

Is it..? Hasn't been good for Labor federally.A minority government is still better than being in opposition. Considering the negativity surrounding Gillard and the Greens for the last couple of years - it's a very good result for Labor.
Considering the negativity? Gee I wonder why that occurred?
It's a bad result for Labor and a shocking one for the Greens.
If the trend continues, and there is no reason to think after so many poor election results for both, the Greens will be lucky to poll 6% at the next federal election
