excerpts...
IT is perhaps fitting that this week the Macquarie Dictionary declared it would change the definition of "misogyny" to fit what the Prime Minister thinks it means, rather than the meaning the rest of us - or at least those who had even heard of the word - had known it to mean all these years.
As Orwellian as it might seem, politics these days has become all about our so-called leaders redefining the people and things around them in order to fit in with their own world view and distract and deceive the ever-wearying public.
The undergraduate zeal with which Labor has sought to paint Tony Abbott as a woman-hater (although misogynist won't mean that for long) is a typical example of this. At times it seems like all the government's energies are devoted to recasting Mr Abbott's conservative family values as brutish sexism.
Likewise the party's latest offensive about what Mr Abbott did and didn't raise in his meeting with the Indonesian president is not the act of a mature or self-confident government.
For one thing, it is a bit rich coming from a Prime Minister whose first foray into foreign affairs was to announce an asylum seeker deal with East Timor that didn't actually exist. For another, the very fact that Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is meeting the Opposition Leader at all is not something Labor should be drawing attention to - it hardly speaks of his great confidence in the government.
But perhaps most tellingly Labor's incursions violate the long-standing convention that political leaders display some degree of bipartisanship or at least statesmanlike behaviour when it comes to foreign affairs. Now not only has the pettiness and vitriol of our political debate been an embarrassment to the electorate but we have dragged other countries into it as well.

I can't stop laughing. Fell on its face. Much better than seeing someone tread in dogshit and slip over.

Shorten tells Gillard how it is...
We've said that women who are as physically and mentally able as the men next to them in uniform should be allowed to fight for their country on the frontline.
Hmmm... Bill, are you saying there are differences between the sexes?

That won't go down with the leftist cryhards
Why should wymens be discrimated against just because their genes, strength and mental abilities are different and not really suited to the tasks involved?
Just another attempt by the leftists to bring down society. I can just imagine the lawsuits that will be brought against the taxpayer because there wasn't enough tampons supplied or not enough tissues. If we have a woman that can reach the pinnacle of politics and still launch into a tirade and rant completely off topic from the debate, imagine what the rest of the sandy vags will be like in a war situation?
Political correctness has gone full retard

As IQS has posted previously. The "M" Dictionary, that renowned LW progressive tome, has been altered yet again by its LW prog staff to yet again redefine an English word to facilitate its misuse by the Left.
I WAS delighted to learn this week that you can make up a new definition for a word and suddenly the dictionary will change it for you.
It was, of course, Workplace Minister Bill Shorten who explained on the ABC show Q&A that "misogyny" didn't mean what the dictionary said it did, but in fact what the prime minister said it did. So, a couple of days later, the chastened editors of Macquarie Dictionary said they would change the definition accordingly.
This was a tremendously liberating development and so I now have for the dictionary some other words that urgently need redefining.

Quota filled by the shrill Labor women

I HAVE known Tony Abbott for about 22 years. I stood for pre-selection in Warringah when Tony won in 1993.
I share many of his values and beliefs and as someone who has known him for a long time, I tell him what I think. We have had our moments. At times our discussions are robust. We have not always agreed. But I can truly say he has always been respectful. He plays the ball, not the man, or woman. Unlike LW Progs...
The Prime Minister and her henchwomen Nicola Roxon, Tanya Plibersek and Jenny Macklin know this. They use it as an attack tool. They know they can be as personally malicious and denigrating as they like. Tony may denigrate their arguments, but he does not denigrate them personally.
Then Roxon has the temerity to assert that Tony is a woman hater because he doesn't get along with her. Nicola, plenty of people don't get on with you, especially after what you said and did to Kevin Rudd. I can only imagine how pleasant those 100 or so photo opportunities must have been as Rudd and Roxon toured the country.
Labelling Tony Abbott as sexist is just a stunt. It devalues good women in politics. When all else fails for the quota girls of Labor, when their backs are to the wall, they begin screeching about sexism. Politics is a tough game. It's still predominantly a man's game. That's why the ALP has quotas and Emily's list.
We don't use quotas in the Coalition. women are elected on merit. I know, I did it the hard way. Five pre-selections, 13 years of effort, an unsuccessful run in the senate in an un-winnable position, then I unseated a sitting senator.
Sadly, women are churned in and out of Labor pre-selections on quotas. They have obtained their seats through affirmative action. They have been conceded the right by their mostly male union heavyweights that they can occupy a seat. I have met some hard-working ALP women but sadly for them, they will never be afforded the same degree of respect that comes from getting there on merit, getting there on the same terms and under the same rules as the Coalition person I sit next to in the party room or the Senate.
Now we are seeing these quota girls preaching in unison, as if reading a script. In recent weeks there has been a carefully orchestrated assault on Tony Abbott's character, led by Roxon, Plibersek and Macklin. Their self-serving protests are cheap and tawdry. They have been desperate to attack Abbott personally. Labor knows they are on the ropes, their carbon tax is toxic, their prime minister is one of the most distrusted leaders ever in Australian politics, and most of the public appear to have stopped listening.
The prime minister has a serious credibility problem. Her defence of the indefensible in supporting Peter Slipper has been justifiably condemned for what it was - political survival at all costs. Slipper's vile texts were the worst manifestations of the sexism and misogyny that she has been railing against, so this woman's hypocrisy knows no bounds. Instead of confronting the issue she embarked on another all-out personal attack on Abbott.
Well Prime Minister, you may rage in convenient indignation about having had enough but the majority of the public has had enough of you. A lot of people, men and women, simply want you to put the minority government and the country out of its misery and call an election.
As for the sexism-chanting quota girls, if they can't win the argument on merit they should get out of the battlefield and take their handbags with them.
