The question as to whether Johns(whom I consider a rugy league no neck moron like all who play that silly game )took performance enhancing drugs is a matter of symantics. Speed etc is performance enhancing. It reduces the bodys sense of pain, gives additional endurance and hightens the senses. It is also recreational. Now if he tested positive after a game he would have been banned. As he he didnt he wasnt.

As for Armstrong, no he never tested positive. He was however retrospectivly banned on the eye witness account of 11 team mates who saw him dope (no only with EPO but with growth hormone, Steroids and bllod transfusions) but also gave evidence that he threatened and coerced them into taking drugs. he is also accused of trafficing and running a sytematic doping program in his team.


The other issue with drug testing in Australia is that most of the football codes barely test their players. Most will go seasons without testing. Thus the chance of being caught is minimal. If people think that cycling is the only sport where PEDS are taken they are dreaming. I would be shocked if all major sports in Australia and around the world did not have a major drug problem that they basically ignor and hope no one finds out about.

Johns drug of choice was alcohol. He admitted to taking ecstasy during the off season and on the odd occassion during the football season. Neither are actually known as performance enhancing drugs for the sport he played.
