I must have a faulty memory. I thought AnimalMother wanted to rid 'Politics' of this kind of personal abuse. Did I get that wrong?
Does this person ever post serious comments to any actual discussion threads, either in "Politics" or "Off Topic"?
I mean, I am happy to trade useless insults with you all, but I have been restrained keeping in mind what AnimalMother wanted. But hey, if it is a free for all, I'm happy to join in. Let's make Politics a shining example of the best insults we can all deliver, wot?

Good luck teaching that cu.nt anything. Perhaps Rorschach is right, it shouldn't be classified as a current affairs program, but rather a fictional, radio drama program, sort of like war of the worlds

excerpts...
Alan Jones gained listeners amid Gillard controversy
October 30, 2012 - 12:51PM
Scott Ellis

Despite the fallout from his comment that the prime minister's father "died of shame", Alan Jones came out on top, at least in terms of ratings.

Radio host Alan Jones of 2GB was at the centre of a storm over comments about the prime minister last month but the controversy doesn't appear to have done his ratings any harm.

In the seventh and penultimate Nielsen radio survey for the year, Jones, who came under fire for repeating a remark that Prime Minister Julia Gillard's father had "died of shame", at a gathering of Liberal Party members in September, still convincingly won his timeslot, even gaining 0.5 per cent.

Jones had 17.3 per cent of the audience for 2GB from 5.30am to 9am, well ahead of second-placed ABC702 (13.1 per cent), with 2DAYFM in third place (12.1 per cent).

This ratings period, from Sunday July 29 to Saturday September 1 and Sunday September 16 to Saturday October 20, includes three weeks of the fallout from Jones's "died of shame" comments.
Despite calls for his sacking, a desertion (for a while at least) by advertisers and at one stage a suspension of advertising by Macquarie Radio Network in damage control, Jones recorded the biggest ratings gain in his timeslot.

Overall, the survey showed few surprises, with 2GB the comprehensive winner with 15.5 per cent of the audience (5.30am to midnight), followed by ABC702 on 11 per cent, 2DAYFM on 9.5 per cent, Nova 96.9 on 7.3 per cent and WSFM on 7.2 per cent.

The only things nobody is allowed to say about him are defamatory allegations which could possibly lead to legal action. Such will be removed.

Defamation cases only succeed, and so will only be taken on by lawyers, if the complainant/aggrieved party can prove they have lost income as a result (direct or indirect) of whatever the hypothetical defamatory remarks. Income, and income only is the only factor taken into consideration. Truth or falsehood doesn't come into it.

Anyway ... I remember High horse Jones needing to be snuck out the Brit's back door as PM's buddy when implicated in controversial sexual practices in public places.

The demons that drive Alan Jones

Part of the answer was: sport. In remaking his life after this low point, Jones took himself to Oxford; tried and failed to enter Parliament; wrote speeches for the prime minister, Malcolm Fraser; coached the Wallabies to international triumph and began his career on radio. By 1988 he was earning a fortune for himself and the Sydney station 2UE. Then came the London incident.

The flat Jones turned up at in St James's Street, Mayfair, belonged to his friend Rene Rivkin. After dumping his luggage, he headed out again. "I thought I'll go for a walk, which is what people usually do when they come to London. I'd been walking for about 35 minutes. I just had light clothes on and it was very cold. I had this virtuous feeling that I was working the muck [of the flight] off me."

The six-block walk from Mayfair took him to Piccadilly Circus, where he crossed into familiar territory, the West End theatre district. He later explained he was going to have a look at the posters for a Jeffrey Archer play, Beyond Reasonable Doubt. This is where his public account of what happened came to an end.

In Margaret Thatcher's Britain, the police had been urged to be more vigilant about "cottaging", the liaising of homosexuals in public toilets. To the cops, protection of underage males was seen as legitimate work, but there were mixed views about the legitimacy of targeting homosexuals. So it was not always popular work with the young police who were usually assigned to this area.
To make it more interesting, the West End branch had begun an informal competition: because the occasional judge or politician was caught in their net, who paid for drinks at the end of the week rested on whose catch was the biggest. Later that day the word went breathlessly around the station that one team had caught Australia's future prime minister.

Two plain-clothes officers had been watching the underground public toilet at Broadwick Street from the roof and a nearby corner. They had seen a man in an aqua-coloured Lacoste sweater enter the toilet and became suspicious when he stayed inside for a longer than usual period.

Jones was arrested and taken to the Mayfair station, where he was charged with "outraging public decency" and "committing an indecent act". It is only fair to point out that prosecuting authorities were ultimately unprepared to present any evidence to support the charges.

I read Jones' biography which was very tastefully written. He appears to be a very discreet man in regard to his sexual activities. The toilet incident was blown out of all proportion and the effect it had on him afterwards was very tragic because he was so humiliated. It would be hard for someone of his era and upbringing to be open about his sexuality and to have it spread all over the tabloids.

2GB seems to embed a culture of inappropriate conduct.
