Rorschach (whoever you are), I sure love your work in this topic lol!
You've got these monkeys bouncing off the walls lmao
However, as a mum who has paid around 40K a year on private school fees for the past 11 yrs for 2 children, I happen to disagree with you on a few points.

Why should my kids not benefit from my contribution to taxes when it comes to education spend if I decide to send them to private school?
You have every right to get your share of education funding, by enrolling them in a public school.
If you choose not to, that's your decision.
The govt. may choose to subsidise private education, by contributing something towards each student (as it encourages more to pay for education themselves by lowering the cost). But to pay exactly the same saves them nothing, so they may as well have the kids in public schools.
Feel free, to put those points forward Lisa, but boxy and I agree on this one.
I see no reason to change my mind yet.

It matters not ( to me ) whether you change your mind Rorschach.
Very briefly then :
In my opinion, the government ought to be fair by allocating the same amount of money for every child's education in Australia, irrespective of which school they attend. This is NOT the case at present.
The issue of why children are being sent to private schools as opposed to public schools has not been adequately addressed in this topic nor has the issue regarding the adverse impact on public education infrastructure/resources etc in the event of a mass exodus of private school students to the public school system due to further cuts in govt funding.

Should they pay homeschoolers the same too?

Now that is a very good question.
On the one hand yes because all taxpayers apparently expect it.
On the other how do you know they are being schooled correctly and to what standard etc, etc, etc.
But the issue of Private vs Public, is they are not the same thing and so funding should vary.

It already does.
Govt funding for public schools runs about $12k/child.
Govt funding for private runs at $6k/ child
Which gets the better education outcomes?
The evidence suggests like every other govt run program, throwing more money at it is the worst thing you can do and achieves sweet fuck all.

I thought we were discussing primary and secondary education here for Australian children. Isn't that
the thing we're discussing?

Pay no attention to Lisa. She's too busy snorting bath salts to actually read the topic
