Why should my kids not benefit from my contribution to taxes when it comes to education spend if I decide to send them to private school?

You have every right to get your share of education funding, by enrolling them in a public school.

If you choose not to, that's your decision.

The govt. may choose to subsidise private education, by contributing something towards each student (as it encourages more to pay for education themselves by lowering the cost). But to pay exactly the same saves them nothing, so they may as well have the kids in public schools.
